Great hideaway with sweet host
What a great quiet little getaway! Great place to go lay in the river, fish, tube, kayak or just set around and watch the deer and turkeys. Amy was amazing and super sweet!!
Not a fan
RV park is a work in progress, accessibility to spot is really tight which is why we didn’t stick around, paid for our spot in advance but was never offered a refund. These are just thoughts based on our experience.
More people than expected
The camp was easy to find, in a nice setting that is wooded and has nice river access.
On the website it only shows two RV sites available to rent, however once we got there, there appears to be 5 RV sites.
She has done a decent job of leaving sites 2 and 4 free in this time of social distancing, but even so it was not what we thought we were getting into. Then the addition of a couple of tent campers, there were just more people than we expected.
It was nice to be out in the country, however!
Amy was a very welcoming host. The property is literally on the bank of the brazos river so it’s great for boating and fishing. There is a lighted pavilion that is next to the owner’s home that is for all campers use and it’s a great place to sit and relax. We were not expecting other campers and trailers on the property, (maybe I didn’t read the description closely enough), but everyone was friendly, and we had a great stay.
Gypsy Moon is an ideal spot for relaxing right on the Brazos River and Amy is a fantastic host. There are a handful of RV hook-ups (electric, water, and sewer) next to the DollHouse, a nice two story weekday/weekend rental that seems to overlook the Brazos. The are also acres of primitive camping and many more plans in the works. We really look forward to going back with friends.
