At the Confluence of the Mighty Llano River and the Majestic James River lies something completely unexpected - an undiscovered gem in the Texas hill country. The Dos Rios. We have over 19.3 acres of hill country beauty to explore. Take a casual dip in the mighty Llano River, or take the plunge off of 20-foot red rock cliffs into deep cool water. Kayak, canoe, swim, visit the Eckart Bat Cave, or take a scenic drive down the gorgeous James River Road (a winding gravel road that goes over several low water crossings on the crystal clear James River). Enjoy the island in front of the property, with its beaches and multiple access points to swimming holes. We also have camping, a tiny home and a fully renovated vintage airstream available (see other Hipcamp listings). We also rent kayaks and canoes! www.dosriosrvpark.com

Site 3 - Dos Rios Camping
Better than expected!
We had a great time and will be going back again. The campground looked nice on the hipcamp website, but it was actually way better in person. We loved renting canoe and launching from the campground. All the sites were nice. Every person working there was extremely nice. Overall great campground, great people, Llano river access, swimming, canoeing, shuttle service offered by the campground, beautiful river front properties, free wifi, good showers, hot water, restrooms, and just all around good vibes.

Site 9 - Dos Rios Camping
Dos Rios RV Camp
Cons: 1) Only 2 public toilets for women and 2 for men so sometimes you had to wait several minutes for one to become available. 2) Upon arrival we had trouble finding "tent site 9". No one was at the gate either. We drove around for about 30 minutes, anxious that it was going to be dark soon. 3) No internet connection. 4) Tent sites are right next to each other. Not much privacy. Unfortunately we ended up with some kids on Spring Break across from us and they were loud. Guess that's to be expected. Pros: 1) 3 outdoor showers with hot water. 2) Tammy was great and helped us find our site after driving around. Apparently the tent sites are not numbered. They are lettered and first come first serve. 3) The site she helped choose for us had an awesome "back yard" that had a rock path down a dried up creek and a short cut to the front entrance of the park and dumpster. 4) River was amazing and water was cool. Didn't catch any fish but our dog had fun splashing in the water. 5) They have canoes and kayaks available for rent. 6) WIFI available but slow but it's something. 7) "The stars at night were big and bright. Deep in the heart of Texas". Absolutely breathtaking! 8) Tent sites had a table and rock fire ring. Be sure to stop by Lowes on your way in to buy some firewood! 9) Not far from Enchanted Rock but be sure to make reservations! 10) Remote. This can be a pro and a con but to us, it was definitely a pro! I definitely recommend coming to Dos Rios!

Site 12 - Dos Rios Camping
Best spring break trip!
The ridge loop was so perfect. We got to choose site I and it was the best and biggest site in the ridge loop, in our opinion. Lots of space for our Yukon xl, U-Haul trailer, 12 person tent, and 2 dogs that were on a dog run. Our 5 kids loved every bit of it. The trail behind this site led right out to the bathrooms. It took under 2 mins to walk to the bath house. Showers were warm, and restrooms were clean. They even had hot water for outdoor showers. Everything was just perfect. The map kinda makes the walk look long from ridge loop, but it really isn’t far to anything, no matter where you stay. The sites have just enough room between them for privacy. We are so glad we got the spot we got. This will be our yearly camping spot! If we book again we will get site I and or site 4 because they have a trail between them that kinda connects and lots of space. Very secluded, we felt far away from everything. Wonderful place, with great hosts! You gotta kayak too! The river up and down stream is amazing! Already can’t wait to return!

Site 3 - Dos Rios Camping
Lots of options!
I took my 16yr old son and his friend to Dos Rios for Spring Break and we had a great time. We tent camped in spot #3 and it was perfect for our needs. Lots of shade and space, a great fire pit, picnic table and the showers & restrooms were right across from us. The river was a short hike from our tents, great for rock hunters. The water is pretty low, as it is in most of Texas these days, but we still had a blast exploring and swimming. Great sunset views. The campgrounds are pet friendly and the staff are incredibly helpful. Cell service was non existent (ATT) but Starlink WiFi worked well enough to text and check emails. The ground at tent site 3 was rocky deeper down so bring your extra tent stakes & a rubber mallet. We bent 6 stakes getting the tents secure.
