We had a wonderful time at Daffodil Hill! You could not ask for two more gracious hosts. They were there to greet us and gave us a tour of their lovely property. We fished, made campfires and had a wonderful three days!

This was easily my favorite site so far on Hipcamp! The hosts were friendly and accommodating, and the land was gorgeous. Daffodil Hill Lake #1 had a view of the water, nice shady tree coverage, a fire ring, and a large picnic table. We were able to use provided kayaks and a canoe to get on the water, where we went fishing and caught several small fish. The water itself was peaceful, sunny, and even had water lily pads blooming. The composting toilet, while primitive in setup, was clean, well maintained, comfortable, and positioned with a relaxing view. The site felt remote, with only the occasional glimpse of other campers.
The only note I'll give is that the lake is pretty small. It's a perfect spot for quietly putzing around or doing some relaxing fishing, but isn't large enough for any distance or more adventurous exploring. If you're looking for space to kayak/canoe instead of just chill, this probably isn't the right spot.
10/10 would recommend!
First time camper and boy did I love it! The land was beautiful so many different different plants! The host made us feel very comfortable and welcome. We will definitely tell our family and friends and cannot wait to come back!
Wonderful place to camp! We will be back again 100%. I would recommend to anyone trying to have a little camping getaway.

Lovely spot with a compostable toilet on site. Amazing fishing and water with access to kayaks and canoes. Other people do live on the small pond so you aren’t totally isolated but still a good spot for an escape from the city!

This is our second time camping here and we absolutely love it! Highly recommend staying here for the peace and quiet, beautiful lake views, fishing, and host. Bruce is very helpful and accommodating. Made my birthday weekend trip wonderful!
When we first discovered Hipcamp, we told ourselves that we would try out several sites until we found the one we liked. Well we have now gone to Bruce’s sites five times and haven’t tired anywhere else! Daffodil Hill Retreat has everything you could ask for and more: well kept campsites and compositing toilets, a lake full of fish, kayaks, and a accommodating host. We can’t wait to go back again soon! If you’re considering this site, go ahead and book it. You’ll have no regrets!
This is our fourth time staying at Bruce’s campsites, and we look forward to the fifth! Bruce is extremely hospitable and his land is perfect for camping. It’s a nice relaxing retreat with options to kayak, fish, and enjoy nature.
This place was an absolute gem. Finding this place was just what we needed. The leaves were SO beautiful which made a morning ride on the canoe magical. Campsite was clean, plenty of space, and we bought some wood on site. Very friendly and a wonderful escape. Besides Bruce and Jose, we didn't see anyone else the entire time. Had it all to ourselves! Definitely will be back!
