Rustic Primitive Tent Camp. 53420 State Highway 118 in Terlingua.  NO SITE NUMBERS.  Choose any site when ya get here.  First come first camp. Low cars up front. SUV's and trucks can easily make it to the back, its all up to you, but remember no tow trucks down here. lol.   We are a  Primitive Camp.. Dry.  No Water. No Shade. No Tables.  Primative Camping.  BUT,  We have Fiber Wifi.  Some may bring camper trailers but NO Generators at night.. No loud music at Night.    When arriving at night it will be very dark.. very few lights in use, dark sky's are protected in Big Bend.. so it may be hard to find. but we are directly  on the highway on the west side of 118.    Coyote Crossing is on a small sign at the entrance.    We are a local family that stays here full time and Happy to share our Back Yard.  Just please dont trespass on our neighbors and dont go beyond the purple Markers..   Most enjoy staying with us because of the convenient location.    Just a mile or so from Gas, Food,  Post Office, Hardware Store, Horse Back Rides, River Tour Guides, Outfitters, local craft, and Art.  We have two old fashion out houses, an area the size of a football field for you to set up your tent.   Pack it in , pack it out. Trash Dumpster up front for your use.  No collecting rocks, cactus or wood to burn... NO TRACE,  leave it as you find it.. . Weather permitting we do allow a campfire on a rare occasion.  Just ask.   Our back yard is a great location for your Basecamp  during any adventure.

Rob was very helpful and friendly. Love how open and free the campsites were. Got there at 2 am and it wasn’t an issue at all. Definitely recommend.

Great spot in a beautiful setting. The property has plenty of space and tons of different sites to pick from. Rob was a great host, available and friendly. It’s close enough to Terlingua to access easily and right in between Big Bend State and National Parks. We will definitely be back.

We really didn’t know what we were getting into by booking this site. We saw all the great reviews so we decided to give it a shot. We could not have been more pleased with our spot and staying at Rob’s place. Rob was an excellent host with great communication. He came out to meet us when we arrived and made sure we were all taken care. He has a great story and I would Love to stay there again.

Less than a few minutes from the Alon gas station and convenient store, but still tucked away deep where you don’t even see or hear the road. Compost toilet was real clean, but if it really bugs you just go down the road to the free restrooms at the convenient store. Bring your own gallon of drinking/cleaning water and enjoy one of the best primitive camping spots in Terlingua!

The campsite area is a large open space, has Wi-Fi, and the toilets are kept clean. Despite the open space there’s plenty of privacy as folks park far from each other and there are terrain features to hide behind if you wish. Also the site is super close to town.

Rob was a very friendly and helpful host, with lots of cool stories. I had some car troubles and he was able to provide lots of recommendations.

I highly recommend staying here!

We base camped at Coyote Crossing. It was a great central location with easy access to the Big Bend National Park, as well as, Terlingua, LaJitas and Big Bend Ranch State Park. We left our base camp every day, and felt at ease knowing everything was safe while we were gone. Great views.
