This was our first Hipcamp experience, and I must say it wasn’t what we thought it would be based on the prior reviews. First off when we booked the trip we never heard from the owners, only that they had confirmed our booking (which was odd to me, because I have used Airbnb, VRBO, many times and you always have some sort of email from the owner after booking), but no big deal. Then it was the day before our trip and I sent an email saying we were excited to visit the property and asked a few questions- never heard back. The day of the trip we messaged, called, no response. Though we were skeptical at this point, we thought we’ll just go and see what happens. We arrive and there’s no one to be seen. We drive onto the property to search for the “camping spot” and find what must be it. Finally there’s a text from the husband saying they won’t be back till late. Ok great, finally we heard something from them, but it was still uncomfortable. We’re on someone else’s property and there’s no meeting, no “lay of the land” given. Nonetheless we stay because we were desperate for a weekend in the country out of the city. The next day comes and finally we meet their children (who were wonderful kids) and they played with our two kids for hours, and that was great. But still, just the strange feeling of never being welcomed by the owner, made us feel off. Their house is literally less than 50 yards from the camp, in plain site, and never one greeting.
This Hipcamp was exactly what I was looking for. Anna and Tom are so accommodating and communications were easy. It’s a great little spot outside Houston for a short camping trip.
What an amazing property and camping experience not to mention the great hosts. The kid friendly setting and all the animals kept the kiddos entertained for hours. Making plans to come back already!
If you’re looking for a quiet, peaceful countryside escape with friendly and accommodating hosts, then this is the place! We had a wonderful time staying here, and Anna and her husband and their son were great hosts!
We had a great night! We felt welcome on the property and were shown where to camp by the hosts who couldn't have been nicer. The property is well maintained with plenty of flat places to set up a tent. Although the property is very pretty, there aren't too many places to camp where you would be completely out of sight from the house or street. Whether or not that is a pro or a con depends on what you're looking for!
Charming property. Tom was extremely kind to take time and get our campfire started as it had been raining just prior to our arrival. My 3 kids enjoyed a tour of the "farm" hosted by Tom and Anna's boys and meeting the dogs and chickens. Made for a wonderful first camping experience for my 8, 6, and 4 year old.

Property was as exactly as described. Met by Ana's husband Tom who was very helpful in giving us plenty of options of where to set up camp. When we had van mechanical problems, they were very accommodating in allowing us to extend our stay one day at a time until the vehicle was repaired. Their chickens added extra country charm.
Anna and Tom are so great and their property is beautiful! Anna gave us delicious veggies from their garden and Tom really saved the day when we got into a bind due to some poor planning on our part. We felt so welcome and taken care of and would love to camp here again.
