This was exactly what we were looking for. We were looking for somewhere that wasn't crowded and somewhat primitive and this did it. We pitched our tent and made a fire right by the river and had a great night. I would definitely come back.

On our way in, we already had a feeling of uneasiness as we passed by the junk yards full of trash and unfriendly stares. The site was relatively easy to find and the gate was easy to unlock and enter. We pulled through to our site, only to discover huge piles of cow feces all over our area, flies galore, a bin full of smelly trash, and zero privacy. What the beautiful photos don’t show is that the neighboring property is in full view of your site, at least in the winter when all of the leaves have fallen off the trees. The camp site we were at didn’t have the nice man-made fire pit and was right next to a paid boat ramp, which was highly active with people dropping their boats in and out of the river. We could also clearly see the other camper’s site. Since the leaves have fallen, there is no privacy for using the restroom and I didn’t feel safe hiking into the back of the property. We tried to make the best of it and pitched our tent and tried to relax but the cows came too close to our site, so we had to have our guard up and shoo them away as to not have anymore smelly cow turds where we were eating. Soon after, two random dogs came over to our site and would not leave us alone. We decided that we didn’t even want to stay the night and ended up going home. Thankfully it’s only 15 min away from our place. Would have been extremely disappointed if we had driven an hour out. Overall it’s certainly a place to camp, just not the secluded get away the pictures seemed to show.

Big pile of cow crap next to our picnic table. There were several piles all around the camp site. Our “fire pit” Lovely views on the way in. View from our camp. Able to see the other camper. Not a lot of privacy.

Camp felt very remote and private, but was close to town. Beautiful riverside location....private and peaceful.

Very nice, secluded place to enjoy some quiet, off the grid camping! Had a nice set up with a beautiful view of the Colorado river. I would highly recommend this campsite for anyone looking for a nice retreat under the stars!

Great place. No frills. Quiet neighborhood leading to the site. Kind of feels sketchy coming down the hill towards the spot but I’ve met some of the people there and they are really nice. It’s very unique and intriguing. Highly recommend and will be back for a third and 4th time soon.

Driving in to the campsite seemed a little sketchy but once we were there it felt very safe and it was quite cute. It was very pretty and there is plenty of room between you and the other campsite so you still feel like you have some privacy

There were quite a bit of cowpies and scorpions so it was very important to be aware of where you were walking. There is no river access from the campsites so that is a bit of a bummer. Neither of those were at all bad enough to be deal breakers. I would absolutely camp here again!

The biggest bummer is that you don’t really have a lot of privacy for squatting nearer to the campsites - between the main housing that the I assume the owners of the property live on and the other campsite it was very hard to find a place to pee when it was still light out. Again, scorpions (and also poison ivy), so it was also a bit of a risk to get too far into a bush to fix this problem. We managed though and still had a very nice experience :)
