If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
We had a wonderful 3-night stay at Boulderdash. If you have a small trailer, this is definitely the prime spot so you are looking at the trees/ river instead of other RVs. The site is a bit unlevel, but we were fine with our leveling blocks. We (family of four with young kiddos) loved playing in the shallow river. While low, there are still a few spots about waist deep. Plenty deep for us! The hosts were great and our kids are already asking when we are headed back. While we mostly stayed at the property, it’s a short drive into Bandera and just a bit away from some of the state parks (Guadalupe River and Lost Maples).
We plotted our next camping trip before leaving from this one. Loved Boulderdash for a myriad of reasons; location...site 3 was great, deer and bird food for feeding God's creatures, hosts were of kind spirits and easy to engage with, very few rv sites makes it an intimate place, the obvious sense of humor by owners (skeletons dressed for all occasions at bathhouse, everyone gets a picnic table and a campfire ring, trees abound, the river...sadly quite low at this visit...was a 2-minute stroll down the hill but could have been seen from our site had it been at capacity and if you peered through the trees a bit. All in all, just a lovely few days.
Small, safe, friendly!
Owners/hosts were quick to respond to our questions amd communicated with us prior to arrival. We enjoyed our stay! Sites are close together but it allows you to strike up fun conversations! Owners and hosts are very friendly and helpful. Our site met all of our basic needs. Restroom was close by, clean and safe. River was extremely low when we visited, but it was fun to explore the dry riverbed. Would love to visit again when the water is high to see the difference!
Fantastic weekend camping!
This place is gorgeous! It was near enough although it gives you a feel of being away. It’s private and very appealing. We highly recommend this place, and we sure will come back again. The hosts were super nice and friendly too!
Wonderful scenic property
Great spot and beautiful view. The water was pretty low which limited our use of it but of course this was relayed to us prior to our arrival and the weather ended up being much colder than expected . The hosts and property keepers were great at suggestions and even giving us as much info as we needed. Great privacy and since we were the only ones that reserved those days we felt completely alone which was nice. It was wonderful seeing so many deer in the area. Will definitely have to come back in the summer to take full advantage of the beautiful water area.
Boulderdash site 3
Nice little spot. Number 3 is great because everyone is behind you, leaving a bit of a screen between you and the other RVs. The place was nice and very well kept. It’s a beautiful part of Texas. The river was very VERY low in October. We hiked along the Rocks. If you have small children, they will be able to throw rocks to their hearts content.
The bathroom was cute and very clean. I watched the Host clean it on Saturday morning . If I had a complaint, it would be the limited bathroom space. There is one bathroom/shower area available. I waited quite a while on Sunday morning to use the restroom because someone was showering and multiple people were waiting.
