Our cabin is a rustic 3 bedroom, 1 bath that sleeps 7. Please don’t ask if you can bring extra people, the answer is no. We are just 10 miles outside of Bandera so we offer the peace & quiet of the country. We DO NOT allow guests to have visitors so if you want to share your experience with your friends or family they need to book their own site. We are a family friendly campground so if you are looking for a place to get wild and party, keep looking. If you are looking for a place to get away, relax and enjoy the river then keep reading! We allow 2 well behaved, social and potty trained dogs for an additional $10 each. This must be added as an extra at checkout. We will not allow more than 2 pets so please don't ask. If this sounds like what you are looking for then come experience the best porch sittin’ in the Texas Hill Country. You will experience over 140 feet of waterline, wildlife and lovely views. The cabin includes use of the bulkhead which has a fire pit, charcoal grill, lounge chairs and a patio set. The cabin rental also includes the use of 2 kayaks (a liability waiver must be signed on site). We allow 2 vehicles at the cabin and you may bring a 3rd for a $10 extra added at checkout. The extra vehicle needs to be parked in our overflow parking. Motorcycles and trailers (no matter how small) are NOT allowed at the cabin. We can not accommodate them so do not bring them.

Boulderdash Cabin & RV Park is located on 4.8 acres with serene views on the Medina River. We offer river access for floating, paddling, swimming or fishing. We do not offer a boat launch so if your water toy is on a trailer leave that at home! Be aware that river levels vary widely. Sometimes we have a lake, sometimes a river, and sometimes a stream. Check for recent photos on our FB page or on Google to get an idea of the river levels. Even when the river is low we have a great swimming hole so bring your chairs, hats, sunscreen and shades. Come spend a weekend or longer at our little slice of paradise. Remember to invite your friends or family to stay at any of our 3 RV sites, 4 rustic tent sites or our retro RV “Stella” so they can enjoy some downtime too! Bandera is just 20 minutes away and there is always something going on. It offers some great restaurants, a museum, several shops and best of all, Cowboys! If you like to hike, the Hill Country State Natural Area boasts 40 miles of trails and is just a short drive away. If you are into horses there are a few local businesses that offer horseback riding. Come on down y'all, play in the river and enjoy the views!

Cannot say enough great things about this spot. In fact, I almost don't want to say anything so it stays a little bit more secret. The cabin is the most perfect cozy spot on the water you could ever want. You walk in and you are right at home, even the fur kids. Every amenity you could possibly want, down to the throw blankets and dog beds. The 2nd story covered porch was exactly where we wanted to be when we were not paddling out on the water. Yard was so great for the dogs...my husband and I just had a blast and we are already planning our next trip back. Thank you for having us!

This place is fantastic!!! I don’t want to give it such a great review because I want to keep it all to myself!! Had a wonderful time. The water , kayaks, the bbq, the fire pit...never cared about a tv (and it had one of those too).
This place has it all and then some. Memories made! Will definitely be back!

This is a real peaceful and relaxing place to stay giving you a wonderful chance to get away. There are lots of things to do if you like to swim, fish , hike, kayak etc. But you can do as much or as little of this as you want. Abundant wildlife all around the cabin so we kept lights off to enjoy the evenings on the big porch upstairs or on the deck beside the river. Cabin was well furnished so we just cooked the food we brought and barbecued. Love this place, we will be back.

Wow, just wow. When they say they have everything you need to enjoy your stay believe it. I'm one of those people that brings "the kitchen sink" when I vacation. I love to cook and make detailed lists of everything I need to bring from ingredients to utensils to crockery. The kitchen is fully stocked as far as pots, pans, utensils, dish soap and other necessities. The fridge had all kinds of condiments and cupboard had spices one would need for cooking. Ice packs in the freezer for your beverages in your cooler for down by the river are a plus.
The rooms are spacious and the beds are comfy. I loved the soft feel of the sheets on my sunburned skin after sitting on a rock in the middle of the river for hours enjoying the peaceful serenity and natural vitamin D. I'm on permanent hot flash so the ceiling fans in every room plus 2 on the porch made my stay so much better.
Wifi is spotty and best on the porch so I suggest putting down your electronics and get back to the old days where family communicates via their mouth or hand signals. There is a nice collection of dvds to choose from if you aren't too tired from the outpdoor activities. I recommend Clueless...lol.
The gas stove/ oven is wonderful to cook on. We had a shrimp boil one night and yes, they had a huge stock pot for the occasion.
Plenty and I mean plenty of bath towels and washcloths to go around. Don't over pack because they have a nice washer/dryer combo in master closet.
I never wanted to leave the porch. The view was fantastic. The sounds of birds chirping was nature's music. I loved sitting outside with my morning joe before the nephews began their chaos. The chairs are so comfy you want to close your eyes, forget about everything and just listen.
Now, the driveway is steep so I recommend pulling close to steps to unload and then turning around and parking so you are facing straight up the drive when you planning on leaving.
I'm adventurous at heart so we explored the "neighborhood" and took the paths less travelled.
There is a little store that has snacks, adult beverages, lotto, gas and even a dining area for food they serve so there's that if you don't feel like driving 10 miles to town.
My only wish for the cabin would be this: we bring lots of dry and can goods so a rack to stow all that would be nice, not a necessity, but nice. I pack our stuff in banana boxes because they are strong and stack well.
This place is golden. Everything you need. All the nature you can handle. And the scenery is priceless.
Oh and the kids had a great time, too.

My brother's son watching his cousin master his craft.Capturing the moment of my serenity as they head to the river. My brother doing what he does best...nothing.BuddyLove checking out the digs.
