Relax in the shade and enjoy beautiful views of the Colorado River, just minutes from Austin and Bastrop. Bring your fishing poles and licenses and try your luck or just relax and watch the kayaks and boats float down the river. Water is available in the center of the area for all campers with a sink and an antique tub. Ground at the campsites is fairly level and there is an area wide enough to turn an RV. There are steps to the edge of the river. Restroom is in an RV so you have running water available, but you will need to climb a few steps. You may get WiFi but it is not a given. Only two sites are rented for an acre of river-front land. Our home is on the first acre of three acres. If you need any "extras" just let us know and we will be glad to help. For the 4th or July and New Year's Eve, fireworks are legal in this area so you are welcome to bring your own, or enjoy the neighbor's displays. We are close to Circuit of Americas and McKinney Rough Park with the zip line. We are a short drive to the Capital of Texas Zoo and the Dinosaur Park as well as LCRA South and North Parks in Bastrop, and the Bastrop State Park. Enjoy a day seeing the sites and then come home to your campsite and enjoy the stars.

We tent camped at Arredondo Acres. The hosts were super welcoming and understanding! They have the most beautiful dog, Lady, who was very well behaved. We were offered the option of coffee in the morning. The neighbors were closer than we expected but I didn’t see anyone outside the entire time we were here. We set our tent near the river to feel more secluded. The cold shower was actually really nice considering it was 95 degrees out. Would definitely camp here again!
Loved this spot. Feels pretty private, especially considering how close you are to other houses. We got coffee every morning, but besides that we didn’t really interact with the hosts after checking in, which I liked. The water was a little high, but it was still nice to sit in and let the dogs play. Lots of kayakers going by. Access in and out of the water was a little rough. You basically have to crawl in and out, but it might not be as bad when it hasn’t rained so much like it had recently. It was great having a bathroom to use in the camper. Also was very nice that they had piled up a lot of the brush/tree trimmings/logs for firewood for us. There are several chairs and table and stumps around so there’s lots of seating there and work surface type spaces. It is a fenced off area, but the neighbor dog got into our side a couple times, and our dogs got into both bordering yards so I would’ve have dogs here off leash if you don’t trust them. It was a little annoying having to go through two sets of gates to get on or off the property, since we had people coming out visiting us both days. But it’s nice to feel safe. We would definitely camp here again.
Camping with the owls
Tent camping was enjoyable. Placing the tent next to the river was perfect. The place comes to life after sunset with owls. The land owners checked to see I was happy.
Great site, with nice set-up near river, clean bathroom in the RV on site and really lovely hosts in Julie & David.
My daughter, dog and myself set-up a tent and had a great time for a night away.
Hidden gem on the river
We stayed at Aredondo Acres for two nights. The area is very shady and a great relief from the humidity and heat of the day. Enjoyed watching the paddle boarders as they navigated their way down the river. Many nature sounds thru out the night which we found relaxing with the most exciting being the OWL that watched over our camper then flew away as soon as we awoke. Julie and David are great hosts, very helpful and accommodating. Appreciated the indoor RV potty and running water they provide onsite.
Great spot, perks, hosts and safe
What a wonderful place. First off Julie, her husband and most importantly Lady were wonderful. Very kind, quick to respond and easy to communicate with. The property is in the back of their land and it was better then we imagined. You go thru a gate at the street and another right after their home, felt very safe. Nice large open area, lots of flat areas for tents and parking. There is a sink with running water right in the middle which made cooking so easy. Great fire pit with lots of wood that all 10 of us surrounded every night. The area down by the water was beautiful. The bathroom and cold shower are in a trailer towards the back which was a great perk. Bring your mosquito spray and enjoy your camping. Will definitely visit again!!
