AHHHHH great job.... you have made it into 30 fenced in acres of complete paradise. NO ROAD NOISE so no loud music, nature is to be heard. NO SHOOTING NO ATV Bikes & hiking are great. I have marked the 7 specifically designated sites on the Hip camp map. I would print or screen shot your spot.
Pond is seasonal and NO camping by the pond it is a natural place to walk WALK to from your site. Right now the pond, Post Oak Springs, is beautiful. No fish. Dogs are very welcome as are children. Children 12 and under are free. Nature is a beautiful place. This is a camping trip like the 1960's NOTHING like KOA today You will love Aat the Ranch IF you like real nature not processed camping. ;-)
This is the hill country, raw and beautiful, including snakes and misquotes, even stickers and cactus. FYI
I know fires are a top feature, at each site you may have a small fire the you MUST put out COMPLETELY before you leave. No fires in a burn ban, DUH and No fires wind over 5 miles an hour, your phone will tell you the wind and google Llano county burn ban for current burn ban status.
Chevy outhouse 100 feet from water spigot 200 feet WEST of the large home at the well. No fires unless you message me. You must stay in the spot you reserved. $19 per person. Children 12 and under are free. Hot outdoor shower by well.
Please respect my ranch. Stay in your spot 2, 3, 4, 5, 6. marked. I really enjoyed sharing my magical place with campers, BUT the human footprint 👣 is going to be managed with 6 sites on 30 Acres. Will you be seeing other campers? NO, because you will be in your private spot.
Primitive area is south of the house, walking only from that point. enjoy the total quiet and deep in the heart of Texas dark sky nights this spring and summer.
NO wifi, Phone service is very spotty except AA&T Cricket.

The landscapes can be rough and unforgiving as well as flat and spacious depending on your campsite. Nonetheless the camping was great and the hot shower was amazing. The outdoor toilet could have used wider or no handlebars and we were lucky to be the only tent campers out of 10 tent sites.
Aat the Ranch was just what I was looking for. Nestled in the middle of the TX Hill Country, with plenty of off-road county routes to ride our ADV motorcycles on. The Ranch was advertised with Pit toilets and a hose for potable water. We walked around and didn't find either. Not really a problem, but expectations were set a little higher. Just bring a camp shovel to dig your own "pit". The scenery was beautiful, with a fairly full moon so the coyotes were active and kept the local ranch cows quite jumpy. Country living at it's finest. We met the owner and she was very welcoming. Our campsite was secluded and we had a small controllable campfire to enjoy until we turned in. This was a very nice remote place to camp!

Awesome, secluded spot. Really enjoyed our peaceful stay here. Hard to find at night, but nice once we got there!
Janice was a wonderful host, and the ranch was beautiful! Managed to see quite a bit of wildlife in my short, but sweet stay.
Not my choice.
Janice is very nice and even drove through to ck on people.
I had more negatives than positives so I ended up coming home early.
The camping spots are full of cactus and hard sand stickers.... my poor dogs!!!
The pics of this place are a bit deceiving. It looked nothing like them.
There weren’t any people there when I first arrived so it seemed pretty secluded and quiet. Soon as I got my dogs and I in the tent to lay down for the night..... all the noise began. People arrived super late and made a lot of noise setting up and lights everywhere. Woke up the next morning to find people camping close on both sides. Btw, you can’t drive on all of the roads and you can’t turn around once you committed. Very rough!!! Thank goodness I was in a truck!
Needless to say, for me it wasn’t a great experience. Nothing against the host, she was great. Just wasn’t what I was looking for or what I thought it would be.
No pond or lake, BTW!

Right after that weekend end of Oct. 2020 I closed my place because Aat the Ranch became WAY too popular, it was crazy that weekend. I turned off Hip camp for a year. Totally agree with Reef's review. My ranch now has TEN specific sites YOU must camp at your site NUMBER. Each site has a sign and some bright yellow directional signs.
This site was fantastic! Great for building fires, and very close to the General Store in case supplies are needed. The only thing that made sleeping tough were the cows mooing in the middle of the night, but other than that, I thought this place was great!
This was a great camping spot. We got there after dark, so finding a spot was a little difficult but we set up by the back fence and it was smooth sailing from there. You can see so many stars! It is quiet and peaceful. I would definitely recommend Aat the ranch.
A restful weekend aat the ranch
This was a perfect location for a solo night of stargazing on a new moon weekend. The property is beautiful and feels a million miles from everywhere.
Exploring miles of backroads around Llano and Mason counties by gravel bike or car is right outside the gate.
The outhouse is not fully enclosed and likely would have been a deal-breaker for my teenager.
