Campers park at our 4R WindShed Wine Tasting Room parking lot and hike a short ways to get to the beautiful campsite. This is a two minute walk from the tasting room and our Camo Cafe. Moreover, this campsite is right at the entrance to our Brambles mountain bike trail.
IMPORTANT: Campers cannot drive their vehicles to this campsite. Therefore, this is not the campsite for campers who have teardrop trailers, rooftop tents, etc.
Also bear in mind: There is no toilet and no shower except during the times that the tasting room is open (see winery website at 4rwines.com for hours). However, this campsite is just a few minute's drive from the main campsite entrance, where we have showers and a toilet.
To get to this campsite from the 4R front gate, follow the signs to the winery tasting room. Park at the tasting room parking lot. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO DRIVE TO THIS CAMPSITE. Walk out on the front lawn of the tasting room and look for the steps that are on the north corner of the lawn. Walk down those steps and you will see the sign for the mountain bike trailhead. Rather than turning left onto the trail, walk past that sign up the mountain bike trail to the north and in 200 feet or so you will come to an opening on the shoulder of the ridge, and you will find the campsite with the fire ring.

Great place and great people.
I almost don’t want to write a review because I want to keep this place a secret! We planned on 1 night, but ended up staying a second because we were having such a great time! Chris was super accommodating in finding space for us since our first site was booked by someone else for our second night. The wine tasting room was a short walk away and we took advantage 😬 (camp cheating)(Ben and Toria were awesome!). The views were spectacular. Great place.
Beautiful site at the top of a ridge overlooking a valley. It’s big enough for a large group (we had seven girls all with 2-3 man tents). Its very convenient to the wine tasting room and right off the trail. It’s not convenient to showers or restrooms but we brought a portable potty so that wasn’t a problem and it’s a quick drive to the showers. Bring plenty of water with you because there is none available directly at the site. You could refill water bottles at the tasting room or restrooms. The restrooms in the wine tasting room are available when it is open and the staff was lovely and very friendly. I definitely recommend the charcuterie board which we purchased and took back to the campsite. On a side note, I recommend bringing a wagon to haul equipment from your vehicle to the site. The site is about 100 yards from where you park and our wagon made it extremely convenient. I also recommend some type of awning because there is no shade as the site is at the top of a ridge. The hiking trail is very well maintained and marked with funny little signs that made it exceptional. It’s not a difficult hike and can definitely be used for mountain biking as well. All in all, our girls trip was wonderful and we had a great weekend.
Beautiful hilltop campsite
Amazing, separate from other campsites, a great view on a hill. It was a little windy bc your on top overlooking a valley but that’s to be expected and the campsite is right next to the trail but we didn’t see anybody while we were there on a weekday. Can’t wait to see this place in the spring too. We did the 9 mile hike. It was long and my feet almost died but it was a great hike with great signage so you don’t get lost. I can imagine it would be really fun on a bike. Lots of horse or cow poop on it towards the last half 😆 but they warn you about it on the sign.
Even with some cold and windy weather, this site was gorgeous and our stay was great! We arrived after dark on New Year’s Day. Walt was very communicative ahead of time to provide directions and make sure we were squared away for our arrival. He stopped by the next morning got check in on us and bring some wood. Super friendly and helpful.
The site is really great, equipped with a great fire ring and they provide firewood! The shower house and bathroom, while not onsite, is just a quick drive down to the camping area.
We made reservations to mountain bike but bc there was a lot of rain prior to our stay, didn’t want to tear up the trails. I got in a great trail run though and the dogs loved hiking on it.
Definitely book this site! A few pro-tips: 1) the site is about 100 paces from your vehicle. Be prepared when you pack. We pack our gear in big ikea bags and bins so it was easy to carry to the site. 2) bring a container for water so you can fill up and have onsite. 3) Consider bringing a table for food prep as there isn’t a picnic table at the site. 4) If you are visiting the winery, make your reservation later in the day. They you can catch sunset and if you have a few glasses, just walk back to your site. No driving necessary!
Thanks for sharing your land with us, Walt! We’ll definitely be back!

We had a wonderful time at this camping spot and winery. The campsite was very secluded and picturesque, while also only a short walk to the winery. We loved hiking around the mountain bike trail, tasting the delicious wine and soaking in the great views. We will definitely be back! It was a blast even with a little rain.
