4R was amazing! We had a great place to park our RV overlooking the rolling green hills. The winery was a short distance away offering amazing wine, great food and excellent service! Walt is super nice and accommodating and even drove us back to our RV so we didn’t have to walk in the heat. Walt also was able to connect us to a driver service to take us for wine tasting at nearby vineyards. We will definitely be back!

Beautiful place! The wines are so good. We had their champagne and so delicious. We camped in our RV and very pleasant stay. Great hiking. The tasting room staff was wonderful!

The RV site was great. We were right next to the showers (which did not have many visitors) and had a ton of shade. Porta potty was a short walk away. Kids loved taking a walk up the road to see the vineyards, building a campfire, looking at all the stars (which we normally can't see bear the city), and seeing a lot of fireflies.
This place is a gem. Great sites for tents or RVs. The property is wonderful and great for hiking or mountain biking. The view from the wine tasting room is amazing. The wine is great too. Definitely returning soon.
We stayed in RV site #2 which is the first site as you enter through the entrance gate. Hookups for water and 30 amp power were good. The site is situated between a very large oak tree and an old shed so it’s got some natural shade. One drawback is that it is right next to the main ranch road which is gravel/dirt, so there were cars driving past to and from the winery which kicked up a cloud of dust. Also, the ranch is a working ranch so we had a hired hand getting equipment out of the shed. One other comment: signage identifying sites needs to be improved.
The shower shed is is a little walk down the lane next to RV site #1. The shower setup is very clever but rustic. But we had no issue with the showers and the water was warm. They operate with a pull chain above you while you’re showering. Sometimes you have to keep tension on the chain with one hand to keep the water running or it will stop on its own.
The outhouse is a different story. It is literally an old hay barn with a port a John cleverly grafted into it. It was pretty full. Walt apologized and said they were going to empty it tomorrow. I recommend that 4R invest in a septic system and flush toilets if they want to grow their camping/RV business.
The winery is awesome but it’s only open three days a week so check their schedule. We sampled some wines. Ended up buying a bottle of the Zinfandel to take back to our little camper.
Overall we had a great time camping at 4R and would go back.

4R winery was a beautiful slice of Texas and such an easy escape from city life. We couldn’t find our site at first and Walt personally drove us to it and made sure we knew what to do from there! Had a perfect weekend with girlfriends at the winery and around a fire pit—what more can you ask for?
We had a blast camping at 4R over the Mother's Day weekend (it was our 2nd camping trip to 4R). Walt and the Ropers are all wonderful hosts. The ranch is gorgeous, the views from the tasting room are beautiful, the food is delicious, and the wine is amazing. Kids had a blast being outdoors, running and playing for two device-free days. And the adults had a fantastic time relaxing.
Couldn't ask for a better place to spend a weekend. Thanks Walt!
Beautiful place. Rolling hills and tons of trees. We stayed in RV site #1. The 30 volt plug in didn’t match our plug but Walt had an adapter. He was super helpful and friendly. Free firewood and campsite equipped with fire ring. No table or grill so bring your own. Water hook up available but not potable. We used it for showers and dishwashing etc. For tent campers the sites are beautiful. Showers are acceptable. Ports potty is WAY too full. The tasting room was scenic and the wine and food were very good. Will definitely return. Overall it is an exceptional experience
