We welcome you to come enjoy the beautiful outdoors and dark sky on a scenic 110 acre ranch in the Texas Hill Country. Our family has lived and cared for this unique property since 1976 and we are still here today. We are conveniently located in Blanco, Texas less that 50 miles from either San Antonio or Austin and in the heart of the Texas wine country. Our campsite is next to a bluff overlooking a spring feed tributary creek which flows year around feeding into the Blanco River just a few miles away. You will enjoy the babbling creek, miles of hiking and biking trails, cooling off in the creek, scenic hilltop views, solitude, bold sunrises and sunsets, and a brilliant night sky. We have numerous old growth hardwood trees including Live Oaks, Spanish oaks, Elm, Escarpment Cherry, Black walnut, and Ashe Juniper (cedar) one of which has the largest circumference in Texas. We have a wide selection of native and migratory wildlife that calls this place home including white tail deer, wild turkeys, foxes, bobcats, jack rabbits, road runners, seasonal songbirds and butterflies. We are just minutes away from Blanco State Park and a short drive to Pedernales Falls or Guadalupe River State Parks.

Excellent, wildlife-friendly primitive car camping spot. Trees for shade, overlooking a creek, with lots of birds and other critters around. Very nice, dry firewood. And large, fire ring. This particular site on the property does not have a picnic table.

My friends and I were able to spread out, explore the property, and hang out at Blanco State Park and Real
Ale Brewery during the heat of the day.

William and his wife were helpful and kind hosts, even taking us in a tour/walk to see the largest circumference Ash Juniper Tree in Texas.

Only con was the lack of a pit toilet. Comfort station provided a seat and bags for the business — not my favorite, though I do respect that they do not want buried human waste on their property.

Would definitely come back!

We had a wonderful experience camping on the family's beautiful land! The view was breathtaking and the night was quiet and peaceful. We were able to choose from some add-ons for our stay, so we had firewood available upon arrival! The hosts were very kind and helpful, and I would stay here again and recommend to friends!

Thanks for a great experience :)

I enjoyed the quiet, privacy and natural beauty of this land. Relaxed in our chairs overlooking the creek and took walks on the trails around the property. Would have liked to stay longer!

This is my second time to Whispering Water Camp. The first time was with some friends and the second time I brought my family. Both times were great. We spent two fantastic nights during this trip. The stars and sky were beautiful and the sunset was stunning. The camp site was well manicured and had everything we needed for primitive tent camping. Our two boys (4 yo and 6 yo) loved riding their bikes on the trails on property and playing by the creek. We spotted deer and heard many other animals at night. So quiet and peaceful. We spend part of the day at Blanco State Park (5 minutes away) for swimming and fishing. William has a wonderful property and we would strongly recommend this camp for families and small groups.

Site was at wooded and at the edge of small calm creek. The other sites were a good distance away so it was quite quiet and peaceful. Host was also very accommodating.

Sweet, private space. We even had our own little cliff over-looking a crystal clear creek. Bill is generous with his space and encouraged us to explore - hill country heaven. We lovvved our time there. We were excited about spending the next morning there but unfortunately had to leave late in the night to get back home unexpectedly. We’ll be back to enjoy and explore more soon!
