Level ground, well kept grass, and plenty of space -- everything we were looking for in a site. Would definitely say a vehicle with plenty of ground clearance is advised, as there is a small gulley to cross at the entrance.
Close to the spots...yet secluded
I would definitely recommend Franklin Farm to those looking for privacy and a minimalist experience. Was definitely an adventure driving my buggy across the small stream and around the trails looking for that perfect spot which I found on top of the ridge. Well groomed and beautiful scenery. I recommend a 4x4 to get around. Very quiet and peaceful. Thank you William
Great pit stop
Great affordable option as our gateway into hiking and camping the Smokies for the weekend. All the local hotels in the area were booked solid and overpriced.
Seasoned camper dream!
Franklin farm is a great option for experienced campers. You will not find a glamping experience here. We used rain water and creek water to bath, and took bottled water for cooking/ drinking.
Very close to Nashville, and lots of stars when its not raining!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Franklin farm. It is not for the people who enjoy "glamping", but is perfect for the seasoned camper. It is quiet, and lots of stars and fireflies can be seen after dark. No traffic noise. The farm is about 20 min from downtown Gatlinburg, super convenient! I will note that if it rains, you will want 4wd or a bigger vehicle to drive back to the camp site, otherwise you will have to hike a little ways to get there. I have a small SUV and had no problem getting through the roads even though it rained our entire weekend in Gatlinburg.
Absolutely gorgeous and peaceful!
William was a very gracious host and helped guide us to a super secluded area on his beautiful farm. We arrived much later than planned and William so kind and not at all bothered by our later than planned arrival. Such a wonderful location; right next to the entrance to the Great Smokey Mountains. Highly recommend staying here - you will get a fabulous nights sleep!
Loved staying here! The land is beautiful and there was a lot of space for privacy. It was a good mix of field and trees for camping. Would definitely stay here again! Really close to gatlinburg as well.
