Listen to the wildlife as you snuggle into the heart of Whitetail Wilderness. Deer, Turkeys, Coyotes, Squirrels, Possums, Raccoons, Numerous bird life and other wilderness creatures may swing by your campsite to say "Hi!" This site is a short hike into the woods and not too far from the Base Camp. This location is a great experience for intermediate campers. If your family includes more than 1 tent, additional sites are available very close by for an additional fee. Pets are allowed, however this is a working farm with other animals, so they must be under control with a leash or electronic collar. By booking this site it guarantee's you a location, however depending on occupancy you are welcome to choose from any open site. Base Camp has flat parking, well water, outhouse, solar shower, kitchen supplies, grills, smokers, Wi-Fi, compost, recycling, trash refuse, and laundry (fee) is available. Also on the property; walking trails, wooded nature paths, bubbling brook and the McCoy (Hadfield and McCoy) Cemetery, gardens, orchard, berry patch and many more amenities coming. Plans are in the works for: a 4 stall full service bath house, a dog bath, a wedding chapel, Bridal suite and grooms quarters, stone church ruins, reception pavilion, school house to teach the lost arts in, events barn, enclosed full-service kitchen, treasure barn to store events decor, walipini for year-round gardening and more camping sites. Thistle Dew! Farms is strategically located about an hour or less from everything: Knoxville, Kentucky, Virginia, Panther Creek, Cumberland Gap, Clinch River, Big Rock, Natural Tunnel, Wilderness Road, Davey Crockett, Norris Dam, Warriors Path, Indian Mountain, Blue Royal, Wind Rock, Lamar Alexander Rocky Fork, Roan Mountain, Briar Bottom, Cherokee and Pisgah, all National Forest and about 1.5 hours from The Great Smoky Mountains, Gatlinburg and the Biltmore (Ashville, NC).Additional amenities available: hammock, grills (charcoal and gas), smoker, kitchen utensils, tents, tarps, lights, fishing equipment, camping equipment, cart for easy load transportation, if that doesn't work, we have a 4-wheeler and horse. We have a lot of board and card games for the family for rainy days and geocaching and nature scavenger hunts for outside activities. Additional Services: Food preparation-we can show the family how to prepare foods from the land. We pride ourselves in Seed to Sandwich and Farm to Fork practices when possible. Also available: Food shopping (send us your list and we will shop for you), drop off and pick up services; if you are tubing or kayaking (not provided) truck with a cap and trailer are available.

This property is wonderful! Cindy was an awesome host, and very attentive and helpful! An extremely relaxing place to camp and unplug! Highly recommend!!
