Quick overnight. call for location
Carl's spot was inviting and relatively easy to find. It was a bit difficult to get the address at night after my instant book, but I was able to call and get ahold of them. He usually goes to bed around 8, so keep that in mind if you are stopping for a quick overnighter. Beautiful spot, and the horses were darlings. The outdoor shower is nice and water is warm!
it was amazing, literally the best experience. you are cut off from everything and you get some time to yourself. carl was a wonderful host helpful with all of our needs and very nice. i do not suggest this if you are looking for your chocolate under the pillow. but this is a must.
PLEASE NOTE, THERE WILL NOT BE A BED AVAILABLE TO YOU UPON ARRIVAL AS DEPICTED IN LISTING. Silver point sheds is NOT a chill, mental reset getaway from Nashville. It is a mud pit unworthy of your time. Save yourself the trouble and if you want to stay in the area, book a campsite or cabin with Edgar Evins State Park. Their accomodations are lovely.
Don’t waste your time or money
I was really looking forward to my stay here and it ended up being a disaster. I tried contacting Carl ahead of time to let him know what time I would be there. No Response. When I arrived there was no campsite host to greet me. I tried to contact him again with no response. Another camper pointed me towards the sheds and said that other campers had a hard time getting in touch with Carl. My reservation was for a shed at site 13. When I got to the sheds I quickly found that there were only 6 sheds. I tried to contact the site host again with no response. At this point it was getting late and nobody else was at the sheds so I decided to set up shop at shed 6. I messaged the host again to let him know what I was doing. No response. I decided to take a shower and when I got to the men’s restroom I decided that was a bad idea. The restroom was in horrible condition and this is coming from someone that has showered in multiple 3rd world countries. I finally decide to pass out in shed 6 only to find that I’ was sharing it with a HUGE rat that has made itself at home in a woodpile inside the shed. At this point I decided enough was enough and packed my belongings. I drove to the nearest truck stop and slept in my vehicle. At 3:51 am Carl finally messaged me back and said that someone had shed 6 reserved and that I MUST move to either 1 or 2. I quickly informed him of the campsite conditions and let him know that I already left. No response.
Best primitive camping experience
This place is a great option for anyone who wants a primitive camping experience, but still wants some shelter and running water. The view is great, it feels secluded, and there are simple amenities that are good for the price. There’s access to water sports, a great state park, and good restaurants nearby too.
PLEASE pack out ALL of your trash. Bring bags and toilet paper if you plan to stay here. Look at all of the pictures in the listing, like i did, and you’ll know exactly what to expect.
We had a family trip of four to Silver Point Sheds and it was amazing! We stayed in shed 6 which had an amazing view. Carl came by and introduced himself and made us feel welcome. He let us know about a good place to swim near by and the kids had a blast! There was a Marina near by (about 5 minute drive) to grab some food. We went to Fall Creek Falls which was an hour away one day. We drove 25 minutes to Cane Hollow Rd to start our float trip to Burgess Falls the other day. We highly recommend going here— it was a great day trip. As far as the camping goes, Carl has water available and bathrooms with a shower. Each shed has a picnic table and fire ring near by. We used the shed to put our gear and food in to keep dry and used a tent next to it. We will definitely be back again!
Beautiful camping area.
Carl was very helpful answering questions I had before I arrived. The Sheds were super cool and would have been perfect for my stay if I had prepared better. Since you can not park your vehicle at the Shed, I packed to stage out of my vehicle. (That question I did not ask) Carl was helpful in directing me to the tent site that was perfect. Restroom was clean. Showers were clean although I did not use them.
