We love Cherry Hill so much we returned for a second visit! Carl is a great host and the area is beautiful with lots to do. We hiked Burgess Falls and played with Carl's horses.
We truly felt in the woods
Pros: the owner was nice, the basics were available (tent spot, water pump, bathroom, shared fire pit, shared picnic table), you can’t beat the feeling of truly being in nature the area was beautiful
Cons: the bathroom is completely open to the elements so the elements also live in there (however other than bugs and frogs it was mostly clean and was plumbed which is a major bonus!) the maps are very hard to understand we thought we were forced to camp next to a circle of RVs but once we called we found the tent sites are mostly out in the woods secluded from the RVs, the fire pit and table are shared which was fine for us but seems to upset one of the other campers, the tent site held our 6 person tent but just barely so any bigger and you would have to go to the RV spot, we were there on a holiday weekend so the site was pretty full he said it had never been this full before, it would be nice to have flatter parking, and would appreciate a little more dirt and wood chips because it was a constant trip hazard due to the large holes and rocks (also hard to put stakes in the groups). I know the cons seem like a lot but over all I would still recommend these are just things that are nice to know.
Nice campground and friendly host. It's right by the road so you can hear cars drive by but great spot if you just need a place to spend the night. Plenty of firewood was available and all the sites had water and electric.
