Ruth and Stephen have a stunning piece of property in Eastern Tennessee. Surrounded by farmland and mountains, there is nothing but beautiful vistas in every direction. They are doing an incredible job building a nice little homestead with a cabin, barn, chickens, and gardens all coming up nicely. Their spot is great for HipCampers and has several beautiful places to set up camp. A fire pit sits atop a nice knoll with views into Great Smoky Mountains National Park, and a camp shower and very clean outhouse have been built nearby. Our hosts were welcoming and even gave us some fresh eggs before sending us on our way. We can’t recommend Rusty Acorn enough!

We loved this campsite! Gorgeous view, great location near the park. The facilities are well maintained and our hosts went out of their way (showed us around the farm and gave us our privacy) to make sure our stay was memorable. The kids can't wait to go back and stay longer!
If you ever get the chance to visit Rusty Acorn Farm, DO IT! Not only is the view breath taking, but your hosts, Steve and Ruth, are most definitely the most interesting people in Tennessee. When we arrived we were greeted by Steve who gave us a grand tour of the property and let us meet all the animals. We were able to pick any spot to camp so if there are multiple campers you will still have complete privacy. Plus, everything that Steve has built for the campers is amazing! They were able to make an outhouse and outdoor shower seem cozy and clean! We had the firepit all to ourselves and it kept us warm as we stargazed (you can see thousands from here!) and roasted marshmallows. To finish off our trip Ruth cooked us the best homemade breakfast I have ever had and hung out with us while we played with the dogs and ate our food. We recommend this site 110% and are already planning a trip back in the fall!

My husband and I had a fantastic experience at Rusty Acorn Farm. When we arrived there was already a fire going with plenty of firewood to get us through a fairly cold night. Once we got settled, Stephen came by with his sweet dog Henry to bring us some eggs (which we enjoyed for breakfast in the morning). The campsite was clean, private, and had a fantastic view. We would definitely recommend.
If the previous reviews seem too good to be true, the truth is they're probably still under selling it. It's not difficult to find coming from I-75 or from 411 and is very close to the Smokie's as well as Ft. Loudon State Park. This is an absolutely fantastic place to stay. Stephen and Ruth are wonderful and incredibly accommodating, they raise free range chickens so they offered us eggs which we made over the fire pit and they were remarkable. The camping space is fantastic because it sits on a hill with great views, and the outhouse is a nice touch as well. Stephen and Ruth offered for us to ask for anything we might need at any time, even to call if they were't home, it was truly a wonderful experience. I cannot leave a review without mentioning Henry, their dog who is the friendliest dog I've ever met, and I hope every guest gets to show him some love because he certainly gives it back like a dog you've known for years. Cannot recommend this place enough for any person/group who wants a nice getaway place with pleasant views and wonderful people, and I hope to go back sometime in the future.

We loved our night at the Rusty Acorn. The camping area had beautiful vistas and was very spacious. Stephen was a wonderful host with just the right amount of interaction. He went above and beyond in making aure we had what we needed and we really appreciated the eggs that he gave ua. Highly recommend!

Amazing camping experience, could not have been better. Beautiful location with an extremely kind and generous host. Thank you Stephen! I hope to come back some time.
Just as billed. Host was very gracious, gave us tour upon arrival to include gathering fresh efgs and even garden veggies. The camp spot is on a level spot atop a small hill. They have rigged a sink with running water and an outhouse.
It had been raining prior to our arrival, yet Steve has gone out ahead of time and lit a fire in the iron ring, and had covered it with a metal lid so we had an existing fire on our arrival which was so nice and appreciated.
The ONLY down side was the roosters...which started their conversation around 3 or 4 am and tried to put so each other...bring ear plugs!
Overall very glad we stayed there. Me, 14 hr old daughter, 7 yr old son, and dog.
Great location, hospitality, and a great way to escape the city. Recommended and hope to come back soon.
