Please clean up after yourself at your campsite and in the bath house. This property is gated and access is restricted to this property and not the entire mountain. There are also train tracks nearby where trains go by at various times during the day and night.
Things to know:
-Campsites: There are well over 40 sites on the property that are all first come, first serve. If Hipcamp allows you to book, then there are spots available! There is no way to reserve a specific site.
- Trash: We do not have trash cans, so you are responsible for removing your trash from the property. This does not mean leave it in the bath house, hide it somewhere on the property, or burn it....this means you take your trash with you when you leave the property.
-Fires: Most sites have a fire ring built, but if you choose a site without a fire ring you will need to build your own. You are responsible for your fire and fires must be extinguished before leaving the property!
-Pets: Pets are allowed on a case by case basis and must be approved prior to booking. You are responsible for your pets and cleaning up after them. Pets must remain on a leash and with their owner at all times. Pets must be quiet and must also be friendly with dogs and humans.
-Neighborhood dogs: The property is in a rural area so the neighbor's dogs often run through the property. They are extremely friendly with dogs and humans! If you don't want them around then just ignore them and definitely don't feed them.
-Bath house: We have sinks, toilets, and showers (water is not potable) available to everyone staying on the property. It is not your private bathroom so please do not leave your things in the bathroom in between uses. This property is also completely off grid so please limit the amount of water you use.

I loved this place and will definitely be back in my next trip up from Florida. Bath house was clean, property was clean, instructions were easy and clear and there were plenty of places to camp. Had the opportunity to talk to Thomas for a while, very nice guy and I love what he is doing and has done with the property. The train didn’t really bother me the few times it came through.

Overall it was a nice lot of land with multiple options to camp. And the host was very kind. The only thing- the noise. This is right next to the highway and even closer to the train tracks. Normally trains don’t bother me too much but these tracks were SO NOISY. Like screeching for 5 min at a time noisy. Oh- and you would probably be better off with a 4 wheel drive. I struggled with my sedan and don’t know how RVs would really do here. All in all a decent experience. A solid 3/5.
Beautiful campground close to Chattanooga! After a long day of exploring the city, going to Running Water Creek is the perfect escape. The land is clean and extremely fun to hike around in. The owner and groundskeeper are nice, accommodating, and generous! The dogs that explore the grounds make you feel loved and joyful. We’re excited to bring our family and friends to this spot! We’ll definitely be back.
Fun area to camp! I was in campsite #1...right next to the stream and conveniently located near the nice hot showers. Made friends with a dog and we took a walk together. It was very quiet during my two night stay in April. This was a convenient location for me as I was attending meetings in Chatanooga for two days...which was just a quick 20 minute drive.
Lots of cool tent spots to choose from. Very clean bathroom. Super friendly and helpful owner.

Very beautiful and peaceful location. We stopped here for some rest on our way to Florida. Nice bathhouse and the most friendly dog is on location!
My four kids (21, 19, 18, and 8 years old) greatly enjoyed our trip to Running Water Creek. It was amazingly peaceful and there was plenty of space and firewood. We enjoyed the local hound dog (who we jokingly nicknamed Daisy) and the owner's pooch too. They were great and very friendly, though we are all very familiar with large canines and all animal lovers. The dogs would have climbed into our tent if we had let them, LOL. The owner and his handyman were both there when we arrived working on some lovely A-frames they will eventually be AirBNBs, we will definitely be back for the camping, the music venue, and the AirBnBs. The camp was clean and very peaceful. I would love to eventually do a family reunion there. Cannot wait to see all the exciting things planned for the land.
I will say that the further your camp from the tracks the better as the unsignaled crossing causes the train to break and blow ALL night long, we attributed it to Demeantors coming for all our Camping Fun.
We definitely added their stickers to our truck and will be back ASAP.
