Campsite is located at the base of York Mountain. Learn more about this land: Pitch your tent, hang you hammock, or park your camper and enjoy the great outdoors. There are a couple of level spots for your tents, as well as a nice rock fire pit for you to use. There is usually plenty of firewood available and there is an outhouse on the site. The pond hasn't yet been stocked with fish, but hopefully soon it will have more than just frogs. But for now the frogs provide great music. This is a rustic campsite, with rocks, roots, and steep terrain. Please bring your own camping gear, including chairs, and please take your trash with you. There is plenty of privacy, even though you are right near a public road that has very little traffic. There are no other campsites nearby and the owner lives 1/2 mile away. Recreation nearby includes Canoeing/kayaking on both the Elk River and Richland creek (shuttles can usually be arranged), Stillhouse Hollow Falls (beautiful waterfall hiking), Trail of Tears Interpretive Center, and Big Creek Winery. Tents/Table/and cots are available to rent as well.Pitch your tent, hang you hammock, or park your camper and enjoy the great outdoors. Nearby Hiking includes Stillhouse Hollow Falls, The Walls of Jericho, Machine Falls, and many others. Canoeing and Kayaking are available nearby on both Richland Creek and Elk River. Ask about available shuttle service from the host. There are many great restaurants in nearby Pulaski.

Nice little spot for tent camping! Some friends and I enjoyed our weekend looking at the stars and hearing the critters come alive at night. Nelson also stopped by before we left at the end of our trip and was very friendly and welcoming to us. Would recommend a stay!

This was a great little spot with a nice sense of seclusion. Plenty of room to move around, good outhouse, and more than enough firewood.

Great spot and easy to find! Wished we had stayed longer and been really able to enjoy the space, would definitely love to come back and bring friends. It is definitely a perfect setup for enjoying the company of friends outdoors. There was just enough cell service for the GPS to get us in and out but otherwise be off the grid. Nelson is awesome! Fingers crossed our travels bring us back this way to stay again!

Beautiful spot

Nelson's spot is great. It sits in a beautiful little holler with walnut trees as a canopy. Plenty of firewood and a clean outhouse made it even better. We will be back.
