We are located Just inside Morgan county, TN if you travel Genesis Road we are 17.1 miles off exit 320 on I-40. We are located just 15 minutes from Lilly Bluff overlook and 25 minutes to either Crossville Tn or Wartburg Tn. Bordered by Parts of the National park and Catoosa Wildlife Management. We are in a very remote location so If you are looking for a time out from life you have found it. We are just a 15 min hike to some of the most beautiful and remote parts of the Obed river. Along your hike you will encounter countless climbing opportunities. Night time here at Freedom Hills brings out your very own chance to "reach for the stars" as each star in the sky seems close enough pick right out of the sky above.
We have a great relationship with the National park in which some rocks are on. We have walked this part of their property with rangers and have been advised on the type of climbing allowed at this time. We are looking into what other climbing styles are here and will be looking forward to working with the park to help facilitate a change in rules if needed for this area. We never knew the amount of climbing and Kayaking opportunities we had just out back and now we want to help share them with the these communities. We are currently dedicating a portion of our campground to just Climbers. With help from the climbing community we will tailor this area to the needs and wants of the community.

Pretty spot. Other reviews are spot on.
Only issue was a lack of communication from host.
Booked later in day, and planned to arrive 11:30pm. A bit unordinary for sure. Nonetheless the host did not communicate that the gate would be open at this hour and that a code would not be needed.
In the listing it stated that we were to receive a gate code in order to get to our campsite as soon as the reservation was confirmed. This was confirmed at 7pm. I read this fine print at 11pm as we exited off the highway after a 2 hour drive, a wreck that now we didn’t know if we had a spot. Luckily I called the host twice and texted to hear back within 30 mins. I hope this issue is fixed in the future as this place has a lot of potential.
Little slice of tennessee paradise
Super cool find! Chad and Jessica are awesome and we loved our stay on their hillside campsite. The property is currently in the construction phase (spring 2021) but don’t let that discourage you from going. The hike to the river will have you feeling like you’ve discovered your own private beach in the middle of a lush forest. We spent our days there following the crystal clear creeks, fishing in the river and climbing around on the massive boulders. We look forward to coming back to this place many times in the future!
Amazing hospitality and amenities
The campgrounds were easy to find, and the hosts greeted me with a warm welcome. They gave me a tour around the lodge, where there were bathrooms and a shower with some very welcome hot water. They even had a kitchen stocked with all sorts of breakfast and snacks! Overall, it is a very warm and welcoming place, and I would absolutely stay again
Chad and his wife were so welcoming. We got in super late at night and they welcomed us with open arms. They were so hospitable and kind! The breakfast buffet was amazing as well. I definitely recommend staying with them if you’re in this area.
Quite spacious friendly camping
Found this gem looking for a place to meet out of state family and have space to car camp. The hosts were amazing and have a heart for service! The campsite we used was for rock climbers and was a large clearing with open view 360 degrees. There was plenty of space to spread out but we found that everyone camping there was welcoming and not too shy to sit around a large community fire pit with strangers. The sunrise was amazing but hard to compete with the clear sky full of stars! I will definitely return here. We even got an unexpected breakfast and hot shower!
Inviting, simple stay & lovely view
Our campsite was in an open field with a gorgeous view of the mountains and stars! We had a campfire ring and access to a well-maintained port a potty but there was breakfast and showers available on the other side of the property.
Owner is in the process of expanding. We would be happy to visit again! Super friendly and inviting host!
