We camped in the field pasture and it was awesome! The cows were super friendly, #8 is very curious. There was even a very friendly horse! We just put our tent where we wanted and that was that. It was very private and had pretty scenery, it even had a pond in the back pasture. Definitely recommend getting out of your comfort zone and trying this!
Cate farm was an awesome place to camp with great views of the Smokey mountains and a good location to the national park and surrounding attractions. We had an easy time finding the site and were greeted by all the curious cows as soon as we pulled up. They were very friendly! Although the site was not as secluded as the photos might suggest (not really around any people or houses, but the property backs up to a main road so we could see and hear cars) it was the perfect balance of feeling away from the town but not too far from anything we wanted to do. I’d highly recommend Cate farm we had an amazing stay!
We’ll be returning!
After a terrible experience camping with our two small kids on Fall Creek Falls, we decided to try something different. That’s when we discovered Eric’s place.
The directions are accurate and the instructions Eric provides are easy to follow. We camped behind the barn and we had the place to ourselves. It’s a huge flat area with a bit of a view to the mountains and a lot of tranquility. Our kids enjoyed every second of it! The place is extremely well kept and private. Another family arrived later that night and they camped in front of the barn. We couldn’t even hear them because the space is so big! The skies are also very clear. We had a full moon and were able to see Mars, Jupiter and Saturn with our naked eyes. We saw the cows at the entrance but they stayed in their place and didn’t visit us. All and all, a great experience. We’ll be back as soon as the weather warms up!!!
