A four acre plot bordered by Burnett Creek. We have multiple creekside, primitive camping spots that are shaded by trees, and adaptable to multiple groups. Our fire pit is carved out in the center of a meadow of thriving wildflowers and makes a communal space to meet fellow campers - If you want. From the meadow to the creek, life swarms all around. Bees, Butterfly Bush, Milkweed, Otters and more enrich the environment. Potable water and a portable bathroom are on site.

The site itself is an easy distance to Downtown Knoxville and an even easier access to all that South Knox's Urban Wilderness has to offer. It uniquely offers a hint of back country camping without the 25 mile hike in, a great way to test the waters for primitive camping or a an easy stop close to the city for a seasoned traveller. 🦋 🐛 🌈 🚲 ⛺️Best suited for van, car, bike, tent, and hammock camping without the frills of a KOA.

During the busy season there are a handful of bookings for this area and in the offseason usually more one at a time. Bookings are for 2 people each to keep it from feeling crowded. If you have more than 2 you will need to book multiple sites.

Not a bad stay. A former camper apparently left his tent and wanted to search the site after I set up but the host did inform me and intervened to keep my things nice. Also a random camper showed up near my site my last night. I doubt they booked. No fault of campground. The overall convenience of the campground is excellent. Seems like as it becomes more popular some type of security and more verification of ppl there may be necessary.

Very friendly and quick to respond. Sites are clean and grassy, just as you'd expect. Great views in the woods and quiet but very close to stores. Water spicket and portapotty available, no electricity. Bees are friendly and did not bother us. Sites a dry, but a few areas around the grounds are a bit muddy. Don't forget a grill for the firepit, which is only a patch of ash. 10/10 would stay again.
