Camp at this east Texas state park to enjoy everything Steinhagen Reservoir has to offer. Fish from multiple lighted fishing piers, or launch your boat from one of several ramps. If you pick the right campsite, you could cast your line next to your tent or RV.

Follow two paddling trails take you through a cypress wetland with iconic bald cypress trees. Watch for turtles sunning themselves on logs, but also keep an eye out for alligators. Gators usually avoid humans whenever possible.

Hike or bike along 7 miles of trails. The 3/4-mile Island Trail takes you to an elevated pier with great wildlife views. Whitetail Trail overlooks a cypress swamp with tall, majestic trees.

Lay outside your tent at night to gaze at millions and millions of stars. The lack of city lights makes the night sky come alive. Bring a star chart to see your favorite constellations.
