No playground equipment but one of the best RV sites in Michigan (that I have found). The Quanicassee River is one of the cleanest rivers in our area. Lots of boats go out and in by the dock. DNR boat ramp near. There are resident eagles, ducks, geese, swans, pelicans (rare) and lots of fish.

Wildlife and nature abound. Our peaceful and private grounds will be your camping oasis. Within walking distance of beautiful Lake Huron with its beaches and marina and parks, plus the Port Sanilac Lighthouse (tours available on summer Fridays), and several bars and restaurants. Check out our Farmers' Market on Fridays and catch a live play at the 150-year-old Barn Theatre. Take a guided tour of the beautiful Loop-Harrison Mansion, built in 1872. Or hop on a 1917 open-air Model T or horse and carriage for a tour around town. There is always something happening at the Museum! Learn more about this land: RV campers are welcomed to our beautiful 10-acre grounds at the Sanilac County Historic Village and Museum. At this time, we do not allow tent campers. Campers are invited to use our two large communal bonfire pits. Firewood is available for purchase. Advance notice is recommended. Guest WIFI is available in and near the Mansion but does not reliably connect to our camping areas. Here you will find beauty, quiet, and privacy. Be sure to wander our brick/stone path and nature trail that combine to make a one-mile walking path around the grounds. You'll enjoy bridges, swings and benches to rest awhile, a boardwalk, a fairy garden, 14 flower gardens, birds and wildlife, and lots more! The path also winds past each of our 17 historic buildings and the 1942 U.S. Army Troop Train. Tour the beautiful Loop-Harrison Mansion, celebrating its 150th anniversary in 2022. Enjoy a live performance at the Barn Theatre on Friday and Saturday evenings. Take a unique tour of Port Sanilac in our 1917, open-air Model T or horse and carriage. We are located within walking distance of beautiful Lake Huron, including a lakeside park, beach, harbor, and break wall. Check out the live music at the harbor park every Saturday during the summer months. "Elysium Heritage Farm" is situated on 120 acres in Northeast, MI surrounded by woods, trails, ponds and canals. In case you plan on fishing the local hotspots on Lake Huron (15 minutes away) and are trailering a boat, there is plenty of area to park your rig during your stay. It's only a ten-minute drive to Pinconning, where you can experience Michigan's "Cheese Town" and all it has to offer. There's a grocery store, numerous cheese shops, and a variety of party stores and restaurants. For the outdoor enthusiasts, don't miss out on going to the ever-famous "Northwoods Wholesale Outlet". Also nearby is the "Saganing Eagles Landing Casino" in Standish. We have resided here for over 30 years and can assist you in many ways to get the most out of your visit. Absolutely beautiful retreat! Private wooded camping site with adorable outhouse. We arrived around 7pm and Kim surprised us with our camp fire burning to welcome us. The next morning we wandered endless forest trails finding new areas to explore around every corner. Small ponds, wandering canals, covered bridge, adorable goat paddocks, friendly hens, comical emus, tiny beaches, etc. There is something for everyone but it was just perfect for what we needed. Thank you Kim & Jeff; we loved our stay.

The farm is gorgeous — over 100 acres of peaceful, open land with amazing views of the stars and moon at night. I got to hang out with deer, goats, emus, cats, and dogs!! Kim, the host, is one of the most gracious and welcoming people you’ll ever meet. She really takes care of her guests and makes sure you have everything you need. Customer service? Chef’s kiss. This is a wonderful spot to camp! The back yard is spacious, with a hammock, wind chimes, fire pit, and table. Behind the back yard are some trails that go deep into the north woods. The host was very gracious, taking time to check in with me while she was travelling out of state. Also, the beach at Tawas Point just became one of my favorite beaches in Michigan, up there with Oval Beach in Saugatuck and the "secret spot" off Old Freesoil Road in the Manistee National Forest, between Ludington and Manistee, north of Big Sable Point. It is a fascinating little piece of land that sticks down into Tawas Bay.

I booked the farm camp for me and my then girlfriend, now fiancée for a weekend tent camping trip. It was our first camping trip together and the farm camp had plenty of amenities. The composting toilet was very clean, the covered picnic bench and fire grill was all we really needed for food, but there was a grill available for us it use as well. There were plenty of chairs too! The only thing missing was a shower but we used the BP gas station for showers. Only cost $5 per shower. There was tons of trails to walk down and if you love animals there were all sorts of critters to see. The pigeon cages are right next to the farm camp and you can hear them softly cooing from the camp if you listen carefully. There were a couple kittens, tons of chickens, some ginormous rabbits, and my favorites were the friendly goats! The campsite was extremely private. Those that are looking for a romantic getaway should strongly consider this place!

This was a spectacular campsite - we booked a last-minute camping trip with friends and this little forest & farm were exactly what we needed. Woke up to farm fresh eggs, coffee over the fire and then did a little farm walk followed by mushroom foraging on the property (found some awesome species!). Kim was so helpful and welcoming, she even helped up hose off our muddy dog after a spill lol. She told us of some planned additions to the land that they’re working on and I’m very excited to come back and see the projects in full swing. Hipcamp never fails to lead us to awesome sites with interesting folks that are generous enough to share them with us - this is another one for the book!

This is a magical place. We stayed at “The Farm” in a travel trailer. Such a nice relaxing site. From the campfire area with the covered picnic table. We were able to make our meals on the grill. The morning walks with my dogs around the pond and by the goats, chickens and ostriches. They loved that. 😊 We can’t wait to return in October. ❤️

Sandy beaches and dunes stretch along the south shore of Lake Huron in Port Crescent State Park. Getting on the water is top of the to-do list, so bring your canoe or kayak and set out to fish or paddle along the Pinnebog River. Five miles of hiking and cross-country ski trails will tempt you inland, while the coastal boardwalk has fantastic views of the lake. Campers can choose from cabins, geodomes, or RV sites with electric hookups at the beachside campground, and sticking around after nightfall affords some of Michigan’s best stargazing—Port Crescent is also a dark sky preserve.

Tips for snagging a campsite

  1. You can reserve 137 tent/RV sites, seven cabins, and two geodomes at Port Crescent State Campground via the Michigan State Park & Harbor Reservations website. 
  2. Campsite reservations open six months in advance.
  3. Campsites and cabins can fill up over summer and holiday weekends, so book at least three months in advance, especially if you have a specific site in mind.

When to go

Summer is the busiest period to visit Port Crescent State Park, when the lakeside beaches provide a welcome respite from the sun. Spring and fall provide ideal weather for hiking and beach strolls, and weekday visits can make you feel like you have the place to yourself. The campground is open from mid-April through mid-October only, but winter visitors can still enjoy cross-country skiing and snowshoeing.

This is such a great beachfront spot. Dark skies, big tent sites, and we also saw other cool spots like cottages, cabins, and geodesic domes. We saw Turnip Rock and want to come back for some canoeing.
