Best in South Dakota HipCamp in BOTH 2018 and 2019 and 2nd place in 2020 and 7th place in the USA for HipCamp Tent Camping in 2020!!! Solace Farm Campground is registered with the State of South Dakota and inspected annually. Our rustic little hobby farm is open for you to pitch your tent or small camper in your choice of spaces and we are open to ALL people. We are however unable to accommodate RV’s, and people arriving in an RV assume ALL responsibility for not following our recommendation. Site number #2 is a pull through campsite for a pull behind camper, and sites #5 and #6 are pull though for a SMALL pull behind camper. Each camp site has a fire ring and firewood is available to purchase with your booking. Group Discounts are available, please message us for more information.
Our rural setting at Solace Farm offers the evening with the communal fire pit, tree swings, the farm animals and a fabulous sunset to enjoy. Some sites are perfect for hammock tents! Each reservation MUST arrive to check in before 10 PM. At your check in we will meet you with a welcome gift of a jar of our homemade jam and a loaf of fresh bread to give your morning that little touch of farm charm. You can now order additional jam, fresh bread, salsa and farm fresh eggs and firewood when you make your reservation! PLEASE review the description of each campsite under "Accommodations - Vehicle Access" before choosing the best campsite for your needs. Trash and recycle cans are available and e ask that you leave no trace when you pack up.
The country is yours to experience and our goats (Abbott and Costello) and chickens enjoy attention. Our old country school merry-go-round is fully restored and the teeter totter made from farm equipment that you are welcome to play on, and a few trees to climb if you aren't worn out yet. (This is a working hobby farm and there are areas that children should not play in. You are responsible to supervise your children at all times) We are gathering outside games for you to use during your stay, so put down the electronics and take pleasure in what is around you. Also, the second Saturday of each month there is a Flea Market in downtown Davis and is a great time to book! Our campground is located on the outside western edge of our VERY small town. A short walk will take you "downtown" to the The Davis Bar or to the General Store for souvenirs, antiques, treats, basic groceries or to pick up more of our homemade jams! Either way, relax or play while you are here. The campground includes a 7 foot firepit with a tree swing and there is a grill and picnic tables for our campers to use. We welcome travelers on their way to and from the Sturgis Bike Rally in August as we are located on Highway 18, a safer alternative for motorcycles to driving on Interstate 90.
Depending on the season, there is almost always something to pick, whether it be cherries, apples, mulberries, rhubarb or something from our garden! We planted two peach trees this year and hope they are producing soon. The camp area is a few minutes from the main house, and feel free ask for input during booking to determine which sites have the most privacy if you'd prefer quiet time. We have been working on our “Glamper” and she is NOT currently available for use. Our rustic stable is under renovation to be available for campers in the near future and we have many more updates coming in 2021!

What a wonderful paradise
Our experience was wonderful. Cinda and her husband were more than accommodating. Not only did they gift us with fresh eggs in the morning, but rescued me later that morning when I ran out of gas. Surprise! First time that's happened. Would stay a month if I could. Thank you!
Genuine slice of rural sd living
Immaculate campsites on the edge of shady expanse to stretch and unwind. I sat on a swing hanging off a huge shade tree and let the miles slide off. It is quite a long drive off the 1-90 so allow for that. Also close to a state highway so loud trucks - bring earplugs. Those things aside, this place is everything I want from HiiCamp: genuine slice of rural living, warm hosts, very safe, lots of charm.
Our experience at Solace Farm was outstanding. We found out after we got there we were their first guests, so felt truly honored. Having never been there, we didn't know what to expect. The farm is not far off the interstate, quiet and very comfy. Cinda and "Popeye" made us very comfortable. We stayed in an extension of their yard adjacent to a beautiful planted field. It was so quiet and peaceful and the hosts so friendly, we would definitely go back. They truly made us feel at home. They even started a huge campfire for us and we sat & talked for a time. All in all, I would definitely recommend others come share their hospitality. Thank you, Cinda & Popeye for a great start on our trip out west.
Solace Farm is a great place to relax in a peaceful environment! I really enjoyed my stay. I found the perfect spot under a nice shade tree. Friendly animals and even friendlier hosts! Would stay again.
Cinda was a great hostess! She greeted us on arrival and gave us a tour of her awesome property. We felt very welcome, in fact when the weather took a turn for the worse she invited us to sleep in her adorable trailer. It was a very peaceful stay and I would recommend it to anyone interested.
We loved Solace Farm. The host, Cinda, was quick to respond with any questions and even provided detailed directions as there was road construction along our route. We got in late due to a long day of traveling and Cinda even greeted us at 10pm. Lots of space to set up your campsite. Also they have chickens and goats! Doesn't get much better than that.
Staying with Cinda and her husband, Popeye, was a blast! They were absolutely hospitable and made themselves readily available beyond our expectations! They had welcoming gifts for us, something I only imagined Airbnb hosts would offer, as soon as we arrived! They were very welcoming, along with their beautiful dog Paige. Paired with their extensive knowledge of the town and its' history, Cinda and Popeye help you feel settled into the surrounding area.
The campsites are nice and open, with plenty of coverage and trees. Incase of bad weather, a camper is readily available.
We loved our stay in Cinda & Popeye’s glamper! Despite thunderstorms & flooding, we were cozy, warm, and dry. Solace Farms was easy to find with Cinda’s directions and the site was even cuter & homier than I expected. Cinda gifted us with fresh-made bread and homemade jam, which we devoured for breakfast the following morning 😊 They even left their house door open so we could have round-the-clock bathroom access, given the camp toilet flooding situation. I cannot recommend Solace Farms highly enough! We plan to return in drier weather to take full advantage of tent camping. Also, check out Davis Bar down the street for beers + Walt’s Frozen Pizza - it was the perfect end to a great first day of vacation!
