Plenty Star- "Wilderness Tent Site"

This is "Wilderness Glamping" at its Finest! We have been told more than once now that it is a dream for the avid wilderness /primitive camper.

One group only at a time. The tent site area sits at the edge of a breathtakingly beautiful meadow on our private property, which is 100% surrounded by the pine trees of The Black Hills National Forest - A fenced, but otherwise untouched 78 acre piece of land we call "Touch The Stars". You can drive up to it once we opened the gate for you after check-in at the main ranch house between 4 pm and 9 pm. We will take you up there along a maintained gravel Forest Service road (1.5 Miles) and you park right at the tent camping site Enjoy the wildlife sitting around the campfire. Wake up to birds singing rather than traffic noise. Hike to the Overlook, the Onyx mine and into Mystery Canyon....Bring your friends - up to 4 more (6 total) can be included in your booking. You will have to bring their own tents etc., and will share the facilities up there with you as well as at the main ranch.

Ask as for a special if you are looking for a place in nature for a day-time event like a wedding or family reunion.

There is an approved campfire pit, a wooden shed with a portable, flush-able camping loo ( serviced regularly) and all sorts of things one might need, like 10 gallons of drinking water, paper dishes and paper towels, etc., We provide the firewood. Make sure to bring everything, you might require for camping without electricity or running water. The loo shelter has a solar light attached making it easier to find our way there at night.. A solar shower tent structure is available up there as well. Otherwise we have that ready down at the ranch. Bring your own solar shower bags, please. We have a few bags here in a pinch. Just be aware that up there is no electricity, no running water, although we have two 5 gallon drinking water containers there and you can use all the facilities at the main ranch/campground. There is also a 150 gallon water tank close by and a bucket to douse the campfire with. That is not drinking water quality, although the deer and other critters sure take advantage of it.

You have AT&T cell phone service up there.

You can of course use the solar shower and bathroom facilities at the main ranch/campground, Join us on our porch in the morning for coffee or tee, oatmeal and fruit, access to WiFi and/or a chat. Check-In time is between 4 pm and 9 pm.

Please, respect our rules for this unique property: 

No children under the age of 13.

No pets, 

No smoking, 

No shooting, 

No hunting or 4-wheeling anywhere on our property.

No RV or other larger camping vehicles allowed at the Wilderness site. You have to drive through a shallow creek bed to access the site.
