Plenty Star Ranch - Full RV Sites

All hydrants are connected to our well, providing great drinking water (tested regularly)
Graveled parking space is available in front of cabin 2, but also to the left of the outdoor shower building. There is also a large, approved campfire pit for all camping guests. Off the ground grills are allowed, no other fires close to the ground. Please, bring your own firewood. You will find plenty at local gas stations and grocery stores. Regular check-in time is between 4 pm and 7 pm at our home. Exception are made for the log cabin No 1 and No 2 as well as the tipi, since later arrivals for these can easily find their own way to their lodgings. We will leave the light on outside and the door unlocked at the cabins. There is also always a light shining on the restroom at the garage which you drive by on your way to the tipi. We are usually open May through September. Enjoy a cup of coffee or tea on our porch in the morning from 7 am to 9:30 am. You can use our fast guest WiFi here as well. It reaches throughout the campground. However, the only cell service for a few miles around the ranch is AT&T. We enjoy to keep our peaceful place clean, as well as smoke and drug free and I hope you respect and appreciate this as much as we do. Sorry, no guest pets, no exception, not even service dogs, since I am very allergic to dog hair. Tent sites are offered for 2 persons max. If there are more people in your group, book more sites and set up your tents anywhere in the offered locations. While at the ranch, explore Jack's Custom Barn Wood Frames & Furniture shop and Isa’s art work and Black Hills Flower Essences products or if you are so inclined, plan in a little time for an intuitive Tarot Reading with Isa – you might just, like so many before you over the last 3 decades, walk away amazed and inspired.

We stayed 3 nights and fully enjoyed the time here. The grounds are peaceful with plenty of places to sit and stroll. The host are easy to sit and talk with.
Isa and Jack are lovely people and lovely hosts. The property is gorgeous. The Tarot reading is highly recommended.
We stayed at Plenty Star Retreat for 8 nights and I wish it had been longer. The property is beautiful. We were in our 20' trailer with a full hook-up on a lovely grass lawn. Jack and Isa were perfect hosts. Each morning guest could gather on their porch for coffee, fruit and other healthy snacks to exchange stories and adventures. During our stay we saw a parade of goslings each evening going to their hideout, wild turkeys, and tons of birds. What a peaceful, serene place. It takes about 15 minutes to get to Custer State Park. And if you like trying local eateries, try the Hitch Rail in Pringle - 2 miles down the road. I had chicken fired steak (twice) ! Special thanks to Jack for all the stories about growing up in the area.
This property is BEAUTIFUL. So relaxing after days of running all over the Black Hills. Not to far out of Custer either. Everything was an easy drive. All the campgrounds we drove by were out in direct sunlight with camper upon camper stuffed together. I would definitely stay here again and recommend to all my friends. Hosts are respectful of your privacy, but if you want to interact they are willing.
Plenty Star Ranch was a wonderful place to stay. The Hosts went out of their way to welcome everyone and had coffee, tea, oatmeal, and fruit available every morning. Our site had no issues. I would definitely recommend this if you are in the Custer, ID area.
What a perfect site for exploring the area. Private and gracious hosts. Great water and even ground.
Highly recommend!
Great place to sleep for the night and enjoy the activities of the black hills. Our experience was different than the other reviewers. Isa greeted is by telling us that we violated our guest agreement and would only be staying one night. I showed her that my kids were indeed on the reservation for four guests for two nights. Thankfully the wifi worked great since I had no service on verizon. She said that she already promised other campers that there wouldn't be kids on site, and we had to be quiet by 8 pm. Caution to campers that this is not a kid friendly facility. Isa explained that she would not be allowing kids to stay in the future. There are also not fire rings at each site, instead there is a single fire ring for all guests to share.
They offer free coffee and tea each morning, which was nice. We decided to skip it after hearing a camper sitting at the table say he had tested positive for covid. Not sure when he had it, but he still had a cough. One bathroom did not seem adequate for the 20 plus people staying on site either. Otherwise the site was clean and well maintained. It was easy to find at night, and it was relatively quiet exception being the road noise. Partial hookup provided steady power and clean water. We were able to dump our tank prior to leaving. Full hookups are available on site.
