We loved our overnight stay at Laure's place! Laure and her family were lovely hosts and the location was perfect: peaceful, quiet and convenient. Highly recommend!
Wonderful stay - we will be back!
My wife and I had a ten day retreat at Crow Peak's Last Best Place. Five stars all across the board! This was probably the best time we have had camping (we don't tend do do a lot except kick back with a good book and enjoy the quiet). Campfires are not allowed, but we were able to have a gas fire-ring, which was great. Bring a pressure regulator for the water hookup on your camper, the water pressure on site is very strong. A good surge protector for your electrical is also never a bad idea. The campsites are at the end of a gravel road, so if you don't like gravel ... well, you should try anyway, gravel isn't so bad and the campsites are such a welcome change from the commercial campgrounds. We are definitely going to be back!
From the campsite it is a short distance to Crow Peak hiking trail (very strenuous, steep, and precipitous in places, so take it slowly - it took us flatlanders about four and half hours to get to the top and back). Also, there is an awesome little hidden waterfall off the beaten path on Sandy Creek just across the boarder in WY. (Turn west on Homestake Road several miles to a right on Sand Creek Road and watch for the public fishing access on the West side of the road. The waterfall is back in the trees on the creek.).
This cozy site has left the best impressions! Phil was a very hospitable host along with his wife Laure, beautiful location for sunrise. We felt like we were away from it all while still being close enough to run into town for dinner. I recommend this Hipcamp location and I would like to come back here again and again.

Crow Peak's was a nice site! Pretty views, the smell of pine in the breeze, there is fresh sod put down for the doggos, pull through is possible.
There isnt much traffic at all except people parking and visiting the game land adjacent to the lot.
This was a great location to Spearfish, Deadwood & Devil’s Tower for us. Hosts were very pleasant and accommodating. It was a great site with full hookups and nice and quiet in the hills. A few more flies than we like, but not sure how to change that. Overall a great stay and we would come back again if we needed somewhere to stay in the area! Thank you!!
Beautiful Hipcamp and a lovely couple who could not have been more delightful. It was wonderfully equipped and very convenient.
