I really enjoy hosting and try and make sure everyone gets a little more than they expected. I try and offer farm fresh eggs, Smores fixin's, and produce from the garden. The chickens cant always keep up and its late summer before the garden hits it stride but depending on your timing you may get one or all of the above freebies.
There are 6 tent or self contained dry camp sites spaced out near the pond. each site has room for a medium sized RV however the 6 sites listed as Uncle B's farm do not have electricity or water. If you require hookups you will want to book one of the 3 sites listed as Uncle B's RV sites. Picnic tables and firepits are at all sites and an adequate amount of firewood is included with additional firewood that can be purchased. There is also a storm shelter available should weather warrant.
I also have 3 RV sites with 30amp Electric and Water Hookups available listed as Uncle B's RV Camp.
I mowed a short walking/hiking/biking nature trail around and through the property that winds around the pond and a small old quarried stone rail road bridge. A great place for a short stroll and to check out some of the wildlife that frequent the pond.
The shower shack is fully functional with two complete 3/4 bath rooms. next on the list is a screened in "clubhouse and eventually a basic outdoor kitchen but for now there is a utility sink that can be used for dishes.
I have a large garden and usually have produce to share depending on the season, and how well the garden does. past guests have been offered tomato's, peppers, and squash along with farm fresh, free range, eggs all at no charge. I also have the equipment to host a Drive Inn movie and weather permitting and with enough interest from guests plan to start doing so Memorial Day weekend. Movie will start around dusk (weather permitting) popcorn and other concessions will be available... WiFi and cell reception is good.
Lake Vermillion State Park is 6 miles away with swimming, fishing and paddling options. Thunder Valley Dragstrip in Marion is 10 miles away with weekend drag-racing. I-90 Speedway (dirt track) is about 20 miles and have 3 classes of stock cars on Saturday nights. The Ortman Chiropractic Clinic in Canistota is 6 miles. Sioux Falls and the Sanford Premier Center is about 25 miles. Great Pheasant hunting in every direction with public hunting area's near by.

We could have camped at a campground but I am glad we did not. Yes, the campground was very nice as we checked it out one day. However, it looked like other campgrounds. Uncle B's was so real SD; the only way I can say it. We were on his 11 acres which is surrounded by fields. Yes, it's windy but this is SD. Brian has a bath house which was nice. There are peacocks, turkeys, chickens, guineas, 2 dogs & a cat that run around. None of them bothered us. Brian gave us chicken eggs & s'more fixings. :)

Brian is awesome. We were the first campers of the season and he did everything he could to make sure that we had an enjoyable stay (which we did). Highly recommend. The fresh eggs he gave us and his dogs Frankie and Johnny added to the experience!
Brian pulled out all the stops to make sure we felt welcome and comfortable when we pulled in late at night. He even left us some farm fresh eggs and garden veggies as well as S’Mores fixin’s and some treats for our kiddos. The chickens, turkeys and peacocks (!!!) were such fun to watch and the kitty was really friendly as well. We enjoyed a very comfortable stay - complete with hot showers in the shower house - and would love to to return on a future trip through the area. Thanks for everything, Brian!
We LOVED our stay at Uncle B’s!
Brian was a most thoughtful host; he went above and beyond to accommodate and make our stay truly enjoyable!
Great locations, delicious shared garden and coop bounty, good hot showers/restrooms, and a campsite cat! We couldn’t ask for more and we’ll be back every time we can!!
Brian is the man! Loved our stay here. Showers were super nice, property was beautiful, veggies were tasty, animals were adorable.. what more can you ask for!? Will def be staying here again

Close to several state parks, this was a fantastic retreat spot we look forward to visiting again and again. A quiet location and an accommodating host made this an unforgettable experience!
We stopped at Brian'farm on the first day of our long riad trip, coming from Minneapolis and heading to the Badlands. All I can say is wow! I'm so happy I found this place. Brian made everything easy for us. He was so welcoming and he explained everything about his farm in the area. The farm is perfectly located if you're heading to West. The bathrooms were super clean and the little sink area so convenient for washing dishes. We had an amazing quiet night. Brian gave us plenty of delicious fresh tomatoes and green peppers from his garden. He also was able to give us fresh eggs!! Our breakfast was excellent thanks to those fresh products. I highly recommend this place and again thank you so much for your time and kindness Brian. Hope to see you on a next trip.
