Voted the Best Hip Camp to visit in South Dakota in 2021 and 2nd place for 2022... Quiet 11 acre Produce/hobby farm 8 miles south of Interstate 90 and 23 miles west of Sioux Falls.

I really enjoy hosting and try and make sure everyone gets a little more than they expected. I try and offer farm fresh eggs, Smores fixin's, and produce from the garden. The chickens cant always keep up and its late summer before the garden hits it stride but depending on your timing you may get one or all of the above freebies.

There are 6 tent or self contained dry camp sites spaced out near the pond. each site has room for a medium sized RV however the 6 sites listed as Uncle B's farm do not have electricity or water. If you require hookups you will want to book one of the 3 sites listed as Uncle B's RV sites. Picnic tables and firepits are at all sites and an adequate amount of firewood is included with additional firewood that can be purchased. There is also a storm shelter available should weather warrant.

I also have 3 RV sites with 30amp Electric and Water Hookups available listed as Uncle B's RV Camp.

I mowed a short walking/hiking/biking nature trail around and through the property that winds around the pond and a small old quarried stone rail road bridge. A great place for a short stroll and to check out some of the wildlife that frequent the pond.

The shower shack is fully functional with two complete 3/4 bath rooms. next on the list is a screened in "clubhouse and eventually a basic outdoor kitchen but for now there is a utility sink that can be used for dishes.

I have a large garden and usually have produce to share depending on the season, and how well the garden does. past guests have been offered tomato's, peppers, and squash along with farm fresh, free range, eggs all at no charge. I also have the equipment to host a Drive Inn movie and weather permitting and with enough interest from guests plan to start doing so Memorial Day weekend. Movie will start around dusk (weather permitting) popcorn and other concessions will be available... WiFi and cell reception is good.

Lake Vermillion State Park is 6 miles away with swimming, fishing and paddling options. Thunder Valley Dragstrip in Marion is 10 miles away with weekend drag-racing. I-90 Speedway (dirt track) is about 20 miles and have 3 classes of stock cars on Saturday nights. The Ortman Chiropractic Clinic in Canistota is 6 miles. Sioux Falls and the Sanford Premier Center is about 25 miles. Great Pheasant hunting in every direction with public hunting area's near by.

We were greeted with fresh eggs, smores ingredients, and a bit of firewood to get us going. The campsites was fantastic and the farm is adorable. Brian is a very accommodating host, showing a movie in the evening with delicious popcorn and an outdoor projector, and he even has a classic arcade game emulator to play! Pet friendly, lovely area. We really love being here!

If you're going through South Dakota, you need to stay at Uncle B's hipcamp! The land is beautiful, the sites are well maintained, the bathhouse was so clean, the kitchen space was great for washing dishes, all the farm animals were adorable, and Brian was an incredible host.
Brian's hospitality is impressive. He shared so much info about the farm, gave us smores fixings and matchbox cars for my child. He taught us how to play the old school arcade game and took us for a ride on his golf cart. Every thing he could have done as a gracious host, he did.
We absolutely loved our stay and will definitely visit next time we're in the area.

If I am ever passing through South Dakota again, I'm definitely planning on staying at Uncle B's! We arrived late around 9pm but Brian still greeted us, gave us the lay of the land, and 6 fresh eggs and ingredients to make smores! He also invited us to a movie he was projecting on the side of his house that included popcorn. If we hadn't been driving for 11 hours, we would have definitely joined! Great location, easy to find, and a super host! Hope to run into you again one day Brian!

I arrived feeling bad that I was getting there so late (10pm) after a long day at Badlands NP. Brian didn’t mind at all and welcomed me warmly with fresh eggs, a s’mores kit & a fun Uncle B’s Hipcamp sticker! He let me pick my camp spot and also started a fire for me to enjoy.

The camp space was beautiful! I had a campervan, but anyone (campervan or tent) would be very comfortable! The bath house was very clean, spacious, and the shower was warm. Brian also shows movies on a projector at night & is building out a clubhouse with a video game consul that looks like it will be very fun!

If you need a place to stay in Eastern South Dakota, stay here! Brian has made an incredible camp, is lovely to chat with & I felt extra safe as a solo traveler.

I can’t imagine a host that goes above and beyond more than Brian. He’s constantly adding new amenities to the campground and was one of the kindest individuals I’ve met on my road trip. I hope my future travels bring me back to SD so I can stay there again.
