What a gem, beautiful as is with endless potential. Only an hour away from my home was a great weekend getaway, I would consider living here if it was possible.

Barebones glamping. The kitchen area came with plenty of pots and pans which was nice, and the fire pit and shack kept us warm.

Alex was an amazing host, very responsive and helpful!

Cool place but needs some real work. It’s not too private. Houses and trailers nearby. Lots of construction debris and old junk. The potty needs some attention. Or bring your own. CONSTANT Gunshots from about 4pm until 10pm at house next to site. I literally couldn’t get much conversation in due to the loud gunfire. We stayed in the open air cabin and it was nice temp wise- Mid December 50’s at night. I was expecting more of clean “undisturbed” surroundings. A day of some guys and a pickup truck could do wonders for this place. Once we adjusted our expectations we had a blast. We left it better than we found it. Pretty pond and view from porch. I wouldn’t recommend small children due to the amount of junk around site: old rusty farm equipment and general debris. There are some great Hipcamp’s out there - this one just needs some basic upkeep.

The site was great, it felt like we had a private campground to ourselves. Only negative is we couldn’t get the fish to bite which is our fault.

We are coming back next month!

His first large mouth bass! It's going to be a whopper some day!Our first time on kayaks! It was the perfect place to learn. We played Catch on the pond and had a great time.Secluded Forest RetreatOur dogs enjoyed roaming free. We were not too sure how it would work out, but they stayed close by most of the time. I know they took off on some early morning adventures while we slept.

I love it. It is pretty quiet here. Very tranquil compared to everyday life of traffic and the constant buzzing of too much and too many. We slept in a small tent in the cabin. It was perfect. There is no door or windows, and I am the perfect "free buffet" for bugs... With no rain fly on the tent, we had good air circulation and felt really comfy.

The deck, overlooking the pond, was so relaxing. Get up with the sun and a cup o' Joe and watch the fish play, breaking water, splashing around. Being allowed to bring our two dogs was a huge plus. They played in the pond, ran off to who knows where, and came back to sleep on the porch. There was no crazy barking. They were so relaxed.

My son caught his first bass here. From the looks of the many minnows playing around the shore, it's a really healthy, happy place for fish.

We just got our kayaks, so this was the perfect location to just get the "feel" of kayaking. We practiced getting on and off the kayaks, played "Catch" with a ball to learn how to manuver, and laughed as loud as we wanted too, when we (just me really) had a hard time climbing back up on the kayak.

It is a primitive site, so prepare for that. I'm a newcomer, like a whole slew of people, because of Covid-19. I don't think I will ever go back to the other vacation ways. This is the best! It's real, and you learn so much about yourself and the ones you love. Provide your own experience, don't ask for someone to hand it to you. I am definitely coming back.
