This is not a campground, it's a safe quite place to park/camp. This spot is NOT suitable for large ~25'+ or heavy rigs. It's on the lawn and it can become soft when it rains a lot. If you have a large and/or heavy rig or want hook ups please reserve Spot 1.
You'll be parking along the tree line to the right of the driveway after the picnic area. You have 2 spots to pick from - the upper it's near the picnic area where the tiny camper is pictured, the lower it's where the Airstream and small class-C are it's in the shade all day. These spots don't have an electric hook up, you can charge your small electronics in the picnic area. The upper site can have a water hook up and water is available at the picnic area for all to use. It is ok to take outside and garden hose showers to help reduce filling your grey tank, you'll need a privacy screen or to be in a bathing suit.
If you'd like to car/van/tent camp you'll need to be self-contained like a RV. You'll need to use a camp toilet of some type. You can NOT leave solid waste on the property. If you would like we can have a port-a-john delivered for $80.
Pets - Please clean up after your pet. Your welcome to let you pets be off leash while here, be aware our property is not fenced. Our Border Collie is 8 years old and does great with other dogs and kids, he doesn't jump or steal food. At first PLEASE DO NOT throw whatever he brings you. He doesn't know when to stop and gets overheated. Cats that stay inside are ok, sometimes he growls at cats (he's hasn't meet one or learned about them yet). If you have an in/outside cat we'll have to coordinate times outside time since he doesn't know how to behave with cats and I don't want you or your cat getting hurt. We think he thinks they're squirrels. I patrol my yard regularly and I have a gray mailbox mounted vertically with flags for guests to mark any of my dog's landmines that I have missed and any other hazards they find. If you have a issue with the chance of coming across a doggie landmine please do not reserve a spot with me.
Local information - We have an information mailbox that has tons of local flyers, brochures, things to do magazines, state maps and more. You can keep anything that there is more than one of. Within a few miles there are many grocery stores - Aldi, Lidl, Lowe's foods, Walmart, Target, Food Lion, Publix, World Market; Local restaurants, Fast food, Lowe's, Home Depot, TSC (best place I've found to refill Propane), Hobby Lobby and tons of other places to go. Multiple gas stations with diesel. Lake Murray is 3.5 miles away has a walking path over the damn, public boat launch ~6 miles away, Saluda Shoals Park, Riverbanks Botanical Garden, Riverbanks Zoo & Garden, Columbia Canal and Riverfront Park, South Carolina State Museum, The Congaree National Park, worlds largest fire hydrant and a lot more.
Misc. Info - There are a half dozen places to dump tanks near by. The 2 that I've seen but never dumped at are Love's truck stop 11 miles away at 340 Longs Pond Rd, Lexington, SC 29073. 2nd is Barnyard campground ~5 miles away at 201 Oak Dr., Lexington, SC 29073. I think they're both $10. We have room in our trash for a kitchen sized trash bag or two. We also have a large recycling can you can use, there's a big sticker on the lid that lists what can go in it. There is a small can next to it for crushed aluminum cans, we give them to the Fire Department.
It's ok to - spend nights away while you rig stays here, have a small number of guests come visit you here, have packages delivered while you're here or ahead of time so they'll be here when you arrive.
Would love suggestions on for improvements. Currently planning a guest shower.

Marks’ Hipcamp location was perfect for me as I was traveling from the coast inward. Mark is extremely good at communicating. The directions were very easy and he is a very pleasant person to do business with. I recommend to anyone who needs tostop near Columbia, SC
This was a really great place! It is really close to stores but located on a very quiet road. It felt very safe and Mark was a great host! Super friendly and helpful and went out of his way to make my stay great. Would absolutely stay here again!
Car camping on Mark’s property was exactly what we hoped for- peace and quiet and remote enough we could run our hybrid for air conditioning without bothering anyone! Mark had a fire going to greet us, along with his super friendly dog Remy. Great location!
Quiet hideaway camping spot
Loved the quiet, private little hideaway in the woods, yet in the middle of the city. The stream was lovely to sit by with coffee in the morning and the owls were talking! We thoroughly enjoyed it!
