Great fishing and view, Victor was great he checked on us periodically to ensure we had everything we needed, the road noise early in the morning was a little loud but we got use to it after the second day, Victor offered to rent us his side by side I thought that was a great gesture, we enjoyed our stay!

This place was absolutely amazing! Clean, beautiful, well stocked pond to fish in. I saw no snakes! Nice beautiful old trees to camp under for shade and the night sky was amazing- so many stars!! I had some the best company; the owners dog named Blue! She has so much character I want to come back just to visit her. The owner is very nice and helpful. This was my first Hip Camp experience and it just can't get any better than this!

Leach Homestead has some wonderful scenery, privacy, was close to home, and was generally a wonderful time. Victor was very pleasant, and made us feel very welcome. We arrived early in the day coordinated with Victor.

Unfortunately, I do have some criticisms. When we first arrived, our car was quickly approached by a very defensive dog. The dog was called back quickly enough, however it was a bit jarring for my g/f and her dog.

We were shown our space, and left to our own. Victor gave brief instructions on bathrooms and where to wander, said he would be back with firewood later, and left it at that.

A few things:
-Definitely need a map and instructions on where things are, where to use the bathroom, and how to get water. Victor was nice, but not good about getting back to my calls/texts/ in-app messages.
-One of his dogs did unexpectedly come over to our campsite. We did let him know previously that we needed his dogs away from us, but it was allowed over to us regardless. Our dog as been attacked, so any interactions it has with other dogs needs to be very controlled, and we were not given that option.
-The nearby road is very very loud. It must be the acoustics of the bowl-like property, but when I was trying to sleep, every time a single car would drive down the road, it sounded like I was laying on a highway. We told Victor about this the next day, and he told us about another campsite he had further back in the woods.... never knew about it.

Overall, it was a good experience, but could use some fine tuning to smooth out the whole operation, and definitely needs a 20 foot burm between the property and road.

Response from Victor , the Host, on May 7th, 2021

We are sorry that you didn't have the best experience. This is a pet friendly property which also includes our own dogs. They are friendly and are excited about having visitors. We enjoy sharing our beautiful property with others. The trees we planted between the road and property are growing fast but I know the road can be a distraction for some. The rolling hills, large ponds, fishing, wooded areas, and just beautiful scenery overcome any outside distractions for most. Thank you for the review.

This place is top notch! Victor and his wife could not be more friendly and hospitable. They sit on 70 acres with woods and beautiful ponds filled with all the bass and catfish that anyone could ask for. If you are looking for an awesome camp spot this is the place! It’s beautiful, secluded and the friendliest southern hospitality one can get. These folks care about the time that their guests have on their property. Victor has a massive piece of property that is secluded and wants to share it with people. Do yourself a favor and stay at this piece of property for any camping trip you’re doing in the area! Tent and RV campers!
