There are some hiking paths along the Edisto River, when the river is not extremely out of its banks. Lots of black water and wildlife views, bank fishing or canoeing and an aged forest with beautiful hardwood and Cypress. Check us out on Instagram @swampcastlecampground

An idyllic swamp retreat.
Jeff’s land is beautiful. The Edisto cuts through a thick forest of oak, cypress, and pine providing ample opportunity for solitude and recreation. Jeff proved to be a spectacular host and the tour of his land along with the swamp tea were phenomenal.
Jeff was an amazing and friendliest host! It’s beautiful being right next to the pond too. We would advise if you have a large class A or are not good at backing up a trailer/camper, maybe consider elsewhere.
Very outdoorsy and peaceful
Really beautiful property and kind host! The only negative thing to say is that a neighbor played loud music until almost 2am, but that’s not in the host’s control!
I was already excited about this trip when I saw Jeff offered native plant tours of the property, but even those high expectations were really blown away with this trip. Jeff's property is remote, filled with wildlife, and large enough to accomodate multiple campers without feeling crowded. Jeff himself is a very kind and accomodating man, willing to share a lot about the property and its wildlife and the nearby area. I really couldn't find anything negative to say about the stay, and I think Jeff is only going to improve the property and the options for campers over time. I will definitely go back!
These kinds of little, beautiful trips are what make things like HipCamp worthwhile. I highly recommend this to anyone in the area.
