Natural Gathering Grounds was such a peaceful getaway. Just under an hour from the busy touristy Charleston Downtown I felt like I was in a completely different atmosphere. The quiet area and cozy tipi was such a kind way to spend an evening. I got to ride my bike around the property and explore all that they have to offer. Their property offers so much for groups in the peak season but for me it was a wonderful experience to have the place by myself and spend sometime alone on the road.
I would definitely come back during peak summer season to see all the group activities because there was so much room to have groups hangouts / group meals / group activities. See you all in the summer! Thanks!
My husband, myself and our 3 & 4 year old just had the most amazing stay at Natural Gathering Grounds. The property is SO BEAUTIFUL. We swam in the Edisto River, went on amazing walks, pet baby goats .. yup.. they were SO cute! What a beautiful place ... so glad we found it!
Had a wonderful stay!
Had a lovely stay at Natural Gathering Grounds! Had all the amenities you could need for tent camping and hosts were very accessible throughout the stay. It is a lovely walk down to the river and very close to Givhans Ferry State Park. Campsites are not private in the sense that you can see and hear the other campers around the pond, however campsites are still relatively spaced out so you don’t feel on top of one another. Would love to come back another time and do a float trip on the Edisto River and take out at the property. Definitely recommend!
Such a great trip!
We had such an amazing time! Such a wonderful camp right on the Edisto river. Very clean, lots of families, and tons of fun! We loved fishing and petting the goats. Also, a white peacock? SO cool. Would highly recommend this campground - we’ll be going back, for sure!
Our new home away from home
Our stay was more than we anticipated. Nice, long nature walks. Kids were able to explore and loved being able to see the farm animals. It was so nice sitting on the beach and playing in the river. Bathhouse was clean and property well kept. We will definitely be back soon!
Loved our stay!
We loved our time at Natural Gathering Grounds and would go back in a heartbeat! It’s an easy drive from Charleston but feels so remote (in the best possible way). The sites were well maintained with brand new picnic tables, the bathroom/shower house was immaculate, and the whole setup was perfect. Close enough for our little ones to be able to walk everywhere, but spread out enough that everyone could keep their distance from each other (camping in time of Covid) We loved visiting the goats and chickens and taking out the little pedalboat. My 3 year old caught a fish in one of the many ponds and he was thrilled! I missed the memo that the river/beach access was about a mile from the campsite but it was an easy, well marked walk and a nice shady spot to sit and relax by the water.
Would absolutely recommend as a great family camping spot and would come back for sure!
