We had a great stay at Betty Ann’s beautiful location. You feel you’re out of town while there, yet you are a very short drive to restaurants and shops on Ladys Island or in Beaufort and approx 20-25 minutes drive to Hunting Island State Park (which is a huge magnificent beach and unique maritime forest). Along the way to the beach, there are also several farm produce stands. There are a few different level tent or camper spots you can choose from. At the outbuilding, there is a water spigot and a choice of 20, 30, or 50 amp circuits you can connect to with your cord. We chose a spot approx 75’ from the outbuilding and used a long 20-amp rated cord we had brought. If you plan to use the electric, consider bringing a long cord rated for your needed amperage or being sure that the closer spot(s) will be available. We liked being in our spot a little further away, but the closer spot is also good if available (perhaps check before hand if u need a specific amperage and/or spot). She kindly let us borrow a longer water hose also since were too far from the outbuilding. From now on, I plan to keep an extra 50’ water line and 50’ 20A electric cord wherever I go just in case. Terrific hosts, great at maintaining a feeling of privacy yet available if you have any questions. Our kids enjoyed playing with the friendly little dogs (they mainly stayed inside but we kept asking to see them). We chose to extend our 2-night stay to 4 because it was such a pleasant time. Highly recommend BettyAnn’s place and can’t wait to return.
Betty Ann was amazing, super helpful. It was our first time trailer camping and she made our experience a lot easier. We will definitely visit again and stay longer.
Great place to stay! Betty Ann was awesome, very helpful and welcoming. We parked on a gravel drive near a barn so that we could hookup to 50amp and water. Betty Ann loaned us an extra fresh water hose to reach until we could go buy one. Boondocking would let you stay in any of the other site locations.
Staying at BettyAnn’s hipcamp location was very relaxing. We enjoyed watching the ducks and the quiet surroundings. Bettyanne is a kind and fun person who has become a friend.
Beautiful property, gracious & helpful host. I would recommend this site to anyone.
This was a wonderful place to stay. It is a beautiful property. It is very close to the unbelievably charming downtown Beaufort. And, the hostess is just as wonderful, charming, and helpful! We would stay there again in a minute!
So many great things to say about Sparkleberry Estates. Beautiful grounds, nice amenities, friendly wildlife, peace and quiet, privacy gate and great location are some of the words we would use to describe Betty Ann‘s little paradise. Her and her assistant fixed up a cozy little gathering place with table, sofa and chairs to socialize on our last evening. While we didn’t spend a lot of time there during the day, we did come back in the evening for quiet and peaceful campfires at night. For us, her location in the wonderful community of Beaufort was central to Tybee Island, Hunting Island, Savannah, Hilton Head and Charleston. Betty Ann was very helpful getting us situated when we arrived and very friendly. We would recommend this highly and will definitely be back if Betty Ann will have us:-)
