This campsite is an excellent base from which to make day trips to the Murray River, the world-renowned Barossa wine region or the Adelaide Hills, all of which are about 34-45 minutes away.Campers can go 4WD driving on a track 10 minutes away and visit a wildlife sanctuary. If you have a black light you will see the Wombats in the dark. There is also a walking trail nearby, and a community native garden to visit. Firewood is no longer available for purchase, so please bring some, but there is plenty of kindling type stuff . This area comes into “The International Dark Sky Reserve,” which means on a clear night, there are Stars a plenty.
RV dump points are about half an hour away, one in Mt Pleasant at the oval and one across the River in Mannum. All access is best from Three Chain rd, thru the neighbours gate, and once thru the gate, please keep left to remain on my property. I ask that all tenters and swaggers please bring a portable camping toilet . Tents don’t do too well in the case of strong winds which can occur, however, I have had many a tents here in the past. NEW ADDITION TO MY SITE: A Wombat viewing area. Guests will have a vantage point to oversee the entire property, and if timing is right, which is hit n miss, with luck, see the Wombats coming out of, or going back into, their burrows. A set of binoculars would be handy indeed. Thank you for considering coming to my property.

We spent 2 nights here and had a good time! The tent was quite difficult to put up due to how rocky the ground was, but we managed, and luckily didn’t have much wind (we hear it can be unenjoyable if it’s windy which Silvia warned us about). Was cool seeing the wombat burrows around the site. A nice location, even with the dried out creek, with beautiful views of the hills. Thanks for hosting us Silvia!

Directions were clear and property is well sign posted.
The area was clean quiet considering it’s location next to a road. Birds everywhere and there is enough character in the riverbed and banks to keep explorers occupied.
Best positions are along the creek bed.

Such a beautiful location and so peaceful. Silvia was very welcoming and friendly. Highly recommended.

I liked how there was plenty of space for all the campers, and the wombat burrows were very cool to see. Plus a few wombats! The sites were nice and flat.
Wombat creek was a beautiful spot with a great view of the stars at night. We would definitely go back.
No frills and was quiet despite it being a busy Easter weekend. Easy to find and a nice walk along the creek bed. Silvia is a great host and stopped by to make sure everything was ok.
