Marlu Tarra literally meaning “kangaroo on the hill” in the traditional land owners language, is what you will see when you stay on our property. Surrounded by Gum, Norfolk and Pine trees, abundant bird life and maybe a koala or two if you’re lucky, feel your stresses ebb away as you fall asleep in the evening to the gentle braying of the surrounding cows and wake to the bird calls in the morning.

Situated just outside of Mount Compass in the gorgeous Fleurieu Peninsula you will be spoilt for your choice of adventures. With the Heysen Trail walk right outside our front gate you can choose to follow the footsteps of the famous artist, Hans Heysen, exploring our wonderful surrounds or maybe you’re wanting something a bit more leisurely like a winery tour.

Travel just 15mins west of Mount Compass to Willunga and McLaren Vale where you will discover wineries in abundance, gorgeous restaurants, cafes and unique shopping. Or, if it’s a sea adventure you’re seeking simply turn right at the end of our road and a 20min drive will get you to Goolwa & Victor Harbour; great for swimming, surfing and a beach vibe. See the Whales migrating in winter and the seals and penguins all year round on Granite Island, Victor Harbour. And after a day of touring the region return to your little patch of paradise and serenity. Pack a comfy camp chair and a drink of your choice and get ready to relax and unwind.

We loved our stay at Marlu Tarra. The hosts make you feel very welcome. The sunrise is breathtaking and there's plenty of space! Telstra reception was also good. We'll be back again soon.

My friends and I stayed at Kaaren’s site this past weekend and loved the space so, so much. The beautiful green surroundings were a real treat to spend time in. Kaaren was incredibly helpful through the whole process of booking and made us feel very welcome and at home as soon as we arrived. If you’re looking for a space to chill out and enjoy the peace and quiet, do yourself the favour and head here!
