Murray River Retreat
I had an amazing 4 nights camping and can’t wait to come back to this place!
Large flat tent areas on waters edge were beautiful and such a peaceful and private place to relax and read in solitude and enjoy a campfire.
Composting toilet area was very clean; I didn’t use as was self contained camping but if travelling with others would be handy.
Heaps of wildlife to enjoy including water rats, possums, wrens, herons and so much more.
I purchased beautiful eggs and load of wood requested at short notice lasted a full day / night which was great.
Michell gave very quick responses to questions and clear communication of how to get to site.
Im so grateful Michelle allowed me to enjoy this beautiful space :)

Enjoyed our stay. A level area down by the water would improve the site a great deal.

Tranquil oasis
This was such a beautiful and lush little oasis to have to myself for 3 nights!
Shade provided by the trees down on the embankment, which helped to keep the sun off my tent and burn off my skin!
It was very convenient to have toilet facilities available.
Friendly Hosts came to collect the carp that I caught, set me up with a generous load of firewood and had kayaks lined up and ready for use.
Very peaceful spot right on the river.
Some very friendly water rats were also highly keen on removing the carp that I had caught 😂

Murray River Retreat.
WOW, wide expanse of river front access, shady, immaculate camp. All natural on the river with sandy bank and a big weeping willow tree, where the cute Rakali will come looking for their carp.
Only 5kms into Berri, the host home is nearby but camp is totally private, and the compost loo is a huge bonus for someone with only basic set up, like us 🙂 My son caught 11 carp, 2 for me. $5 for a dozen huge farm fresh eggs, boat and canoe hire also extremely good price. We also me Michelle's parents, who kindly offered to help when our tent was laid flat in wind 💛.
We absolutely loved it, and hope to be back very soon!
