Wonderland 4WD Bushcamp is located 15 minutes from Maleny in the heart of the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. It features 3 private sites in a spectacular bush setting (and more are coming!). We welcome small groups and their pets and cater to couples and small groups looking for a secluded weekend away. There is a two night minimum. A MINIMUM OF AWD VEHICLE IS NEEDED JUST TO GET ONTO THE PROPERTY. THERE IS NO WHERE TO PARK VEHICLES THAT CANNOT REACH THE SITE. Please take the track descriptions seriously. We're not embellishing just to discourage inexperienced 4WDers. These are NO JOKE. Gumtree Summit and The Gun Range are up a steep and rocky track that require techincal driving skills and a capable vehicle. These sites are very difficult to access in wet weather. You need to know what you are doing. When booking, ensure you reach each site description thoroughly and send us a message answering the vehicle capability questions prior to requesting a booking. Fuzzy miniature galloway cattle freely roam the property here. If you are not camping at the Summit sites, where they don't tend to go, you may see us driving around in our side-by-side given them lots of treats and cuddles. Other than that, our hope is that you don't see anyone but the local wildlife.

The Summit (High-Clearance 4WD

Great views and hosts!

The Summit camp was a phenomenal spot - but do heed the warnings about the track getting up there. It was quite muddy for us and took a while to get through it, but it was well worth the effort. Jeremy was an excellent host and we will definitely be going back!

The Summit (High-Clearance 4WD

After the first gate we lowered the tyre pressure without questioning as we knew we were in for a slippery drive to the Summit. Met with Jeremy, he gave us clear directions. And the climb began. It was definitely a narly track after some rain but when we got to the top it was worth it. Gorgeous views, plenty of room for camp, large fire pit, little tracks for walking, the gorgeous bird calls and all to ourselves. Last day we woke up to the sound of rain on our rooftop. We thought the track up was hectic, with a wrong turn, a quick call to Jeremy for directions and a uturn on the mountain lets just say we put or Nav and 4wd experience to the test. Thank you Jeremy for sharing your mountain with us. We will be back, might check the weather forecast next time.

Gun Range (High-Clearance 4WD)

We camped at 'The Summit', absolutely amazing view, was an adventure from the entrance to the top, so quite and peaceful, creek flowing beautifully and the host Jeremy is a bloody top bloke. We will be returning again, definitely enquire about feeding the cattle, it was an experience everyone would love.

Creek Camp (AWD/Trailer)

A beautiful spot amongst the cows, near the creek, if you're in your swag! There'd been some rain in the days leading up, so the dirt and tyre tracks at the site had become mud and puddles, so our set up of a gazebo and annex wouldn't have fit at this site with our ute. Unfortunately we we were quite disappointed and didn't get to stay. Definitely recommend this site for anyone in a swag or a car Rooftop camping, only! Don't bring a trailer here. Hopefully we can try again another time.
