We had such a wonderful time at Susan River Adventure Holiday Resort - it is a beautiful location to stay with thoughtful facilities! Norm and staff were very friendly and welcoming. We stayed at an unpowered site at the back of the property, massive grassy areas with plenty of space to set up camp. Facilities were clean. We went for a horse ride the next day, and it was an absolute highlight of our stay! Thank you for a memorable time!

Large open flat area for unpowered camping, able to be well away from any neighbours. Surprising amount of traffic noise from highway to Hervey Bay. Good water sources available. Has most of the benefits of bush camping with easy access to anything you don’t have (firewood, water, toilets showers etc etc).

I loved the facility’s, showers and the toilets are fantastically clean. Friendly staff and beautiful location with cows in the close fields to wake up to on your flat camping site with appropriate tree cover if you so desire.

Although 4hrs away, we WILL be returning for sure!

Loved the location, a very well maintained paddock with lovely green grass. We had running water and rubbish bins close by.
Lots of activities to keep our kids entertained.

We loved it here and have already planned a week here for my birthday. The grounds are fantastic with lots for the kids to do. We camped in a camper trailer unpowered site and utilised the showers and toilets which were kept very clean. Beautiful sunset and sunrises and close by if you want to venture into Hervey bay ( def try Retros for breakfast). Norm was very welcoming and was happy to answer any questions we had. We had to pay the surcharge difference on Check in as Hipcamp hadn't included this but was no issue as it was $5.00. Pool is a bit too cold for swimming but the kids didn't mind at all ( kids feel nothing) Would highly recommend this place for families or even if you are just passing by. Great for families and lots around for the kids to do with the Bmx little track, horses and other activities.

Always love to stay at Susan River retreat. The kids always have a ball, with so much to keep them busy. Plenty of room to choose the perfect spot to set up. Has everything you need and nice and close to home but far enough to get away. Would recommend staying at Susan River retreat to anyone.
