Friendly host and good town nearby
Very friendly hosts. Lovely town is close by with nice cafes and restaurants. We found the road nearby noisy at night. The creek unfortunatley did not have enough water for swimming. Fellow campers are quite close by. Toilet and shower facilities are part of the main house, well kept and very clean.
Awesome location with great service
Directions were easy to follow, location is what we were looking for (nice easy camping getaway with a creek view), customer service from both Dave and his partner makes you feel welcome, nothing negative to say as they also have a shower and toilet available up at the main house if you need (visitors bathroom block). We will be back to show it off with mates
Pleasant but pricey
Platypus Bay Creek Camp is a small camping area on the bank of a creek however not all the sites are on the creek side. Unfortunately the water wasn’t very free flowing when we visited but when it is I can imagine it’s beautiful.
The camp sites are fairly close together and fires are allowed which is great. The shower and toilet are up at the house (underneath). Both shower and toilet are in the same bathroom (very well maintained) however there is a portaloo at the campsite for use as well.
The property is on a main road and as previously mentioned there is quite a lot of noise during the day. There’s not a lot to do close by at the site so you do need to drive if you want to go exploring.
The host met us on arrival and was very welcoming. We did feel this campsite was very overpriced ($53 for one night) and if we had ended up at the back corner I would not have been impressed. At least we were lucky to have one of the better sites.
Was a great place to stay for our first time camping properly. The owners dog was super cute and always down for a play. Close to lots of places for essentials if you run out/need more during the stay.
Hygiene areas were clean and tidy. Would definitely revisit.
We had a really nice evening in this cozy camping spot by the river. Having a bathroom and shower so easily accessible was a real treat! Our thanks to the helpful hosts!
We have just returned from a visit to this little gem!
It is a lovely natural camping ground with all you need, including showers and flushing toilet at the main house.
The hosts are absolutely wonderful and welcoming - and their dog Jimmy… well we like to think he is a little bit our dog now 😍 Jimmy kept us company, played fetch with us and went swimming in the creek with us also. He is such a beautiful dog with a friendly nature.
This is one spot we will come back to over and over again.

Hi Vibeke Thank you so much for your kind words. It is our pleasure to have you as our guest. I missed out on the pizza . Bugger! Look forward to seeing you again Thank you🙏
Tranquil spot on a beautiful creek nested among towering gum trees. We haven’t seen platypuses but we could hear the splashes. Friendly but not intrusive hosts made us feel welcomed and comfortable. We even had our privat bush bar. Only 15 minutes to Boreen Point and 30 minutes to Noosa. Abundance of bird life. We will definitely return. PS. David, we haven't caught that big fish 🙂🐟
Close by, coming along well
This camp has pros and cons like many spots.
Pros
Access to shower, flushing lol, clean, close to shops and small number of sites. It also has a interesting creek which we explored briefly in the kayaks provided free.
Very friendly host and his dog.
Night loo in the site for a quick nighttime wee.
Apparently there is a platypus which we didn't see but another site thought they saw something which could have been it early in the morning.
Cons
Close to traffic of the road which was noisy
The set up with the shower and toilet is under the hosts house.
There was a lot of building and mechanical works throughout the day which wasn't what we had left the suburbs to experience.
We were hoping for more privacy and secluded spot so we were a bit surprised to see the sites are mainly together, with a couple of really nice ones coming along further away.
Other thoughts
The place is only new and the sites are still establishing. The host has a big heart which is revealed in the care and welcome we received.
Best of luck to this venture in the future. You can tell it will be great.

Hi Nick and family. We really appreciate your honesty with your review . Thanks. Being new to Hipcamp we are trying many changes to make fellow campers as welcome, comfortable , and as happy as possibly. We have a beautiful spot and love to share with others. At times the traffic on a long weekend can be heard. And will take in your comments on the cons and will be more aware Hope to see your Twins on the football field to say Gday Thanks it’s our pleasure to have you
