The Lone Camel bush camp is Brisbane’s best kept secret. So close yet feels like you’re away from the hustle and bustle. Kelly and her husband were more than welcoming and very friendly making us feel at home. Their property is absolutely beautiful with the option of Brisbane city views or the bush scenery with multiple camp areas to choose from. Friendly cattle and Garfunkel ( the Camel) come visit you every day and don’t mind a cheeky pat. Can’t wait to visit again 🐪

We had a lovely warm welcome to the property from Kelly & Mick, who gave some great tips before setting us loose on their 350+ acres.
The tracks are definitely 4WD only and you'll need a fairly light and agile camper if towing, but WOW! you are well rewarded with the views and the serenity from the top.
The gazetted camping areas are all level and there is an abundance of firewood ready to be collected.
We are already planning our next trip back to visit Garfunkel (the friendly camel) and thanks to the large sites, will be bringing a few friends along next time.

I had the pleasure of staying at site 3 over the weekend. What a spot! Nice flat open area that was huge. Views over the valley and surrounded by bush. It is incredibly peaceful and quiet, and just what we were after.

The hosts were amazing and super helpful. The camel and cattle addedto the awesome experience.

Definitely need a 4wd for access to the ridge sites, but towed a camper trailer and it was fine. Wet tracks may be a challenge.

Will most definitely be back. Highly recommend.

Beautiful, green campsite on top of the hill with panoramic, uninterrupted views. It is very quite and peaceful. Brisbane City Skyline Views.

Pros:
- super close to Brisbane. Can't believe how close it is.
- very isolated, only 2 camp groups on the whole gigantic property at a time. Could not see or hear anything from the other campers
- Stunning, panormaic views right from the campsite
- Garfunkel the Camel is absolutely amazing, curious, cuddly, loves carrots
- very welcoming and friendly host

Cons:
- not as much of a con for us, but for some people it might be a con. To get to the campsite you need a little bit of offroading experience and halfway capable 4wd. Average suv won't cut it or will make it very difficult. If it rains, even more so.

Kelly greeted us on arrival and talked us through the property and how to find out campsite. You definitely require a 4wd to get around the property. It is really well set up with separate camp areas for each group so you are no where near people you don't know. The cattle and Garfunkel the camel are all so friendly and happy for you to walk up to them, we had a very friendly bull grazing around our camp site and was happy to have a pat and for the kids to be mucking around near him. They have set up areas with beautiful views. We will definitely be back.
