Nestled on the edge of the forest and next to our dam is this quiet retreat suitable for campers with tents or a camper-trailer.

All we need now is some decent rain to re-fill the dam.  This campsite is not suitable for young children when there is water in the dam as it is not fenced off.

FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES: This is rough, rugged country which makes access in a city wheelchair or walker difficult, but if you have a sense of adventure we'd love to work with you to create the holiday of your dreams.

We have a whole beautiful valley with a crystal clear spring-fed creek, patches of rain forest and hillsides covered in grass-trees backing onto Wrattens State Forest. There's 1,375 acres of land - the boundaries of our property are the ridges of the mountains that encircle us, and many rare species abound here.

4WD recommended.

This is a dog and horse friendly property, but there is paralysis tick in this region - so we'd recommend treating them before you come and frequent checks while you're here.

No mobile phone coverage at the campsites or our house (so if we're home I won't to answer calls to our mobile phone - please use our landline instead), but there is a hill you can drive (or walk) up on the property to get signal for emergencies.

The approach road is about 20km of dirt road with a few well built and maintained creek crossings. suitable for any vehicle.
From the front gate to the hosts residence(1km) is fairly rough with a decent hill right before the residence. this is suitable for any high ground clearance vehicle in dry conditions but you will probably be better off with 4wd in the wet, I wouldn't advise anything with low ground clearance here. The decent to Billabong is dirt and grass, very slippery in the wet.
we managed to get into this site in the wet with a 4.5t 2wd Toyota coaster bus, the hill just before the residence needed two attempts and a lot of spinning the wheels. after our stay we couldn't make it up the grassy hill out of Billabong and Anita graciously towed us out. dry weather wouldn't have been a problem for our vehicle.

The site is absolutely beautiful, you can see the hosts residence at a distance of about 200m, and the the occasional fellow camper driving past on the crest of the hill about 150m away, all the other campsites are really far away completely out of site(no impact on your enjoyment). We were visited by cows and a horse, spotted a wallaby, plenty birds on view and fire flies in the trees at night. lovely mowed area that managed the rain well.
This is a stunning property and I would highly recommend it (the drive getting to and from the property is just as nice, take your time).

Really nice property and hosts. Plenty of space and privacy. A great bush escape. Was nice to go for walks to the creek and 4wd along some of the tracks. Sit around campfire. Plus a bit of fun (& bumpy) bike riding for the kids on the dirt tracks.
