Top of the Hill

At Eurasia’s Backyard you will have plenty of space and privacy during you stay along with all sorts of wildlife to watch and enjoy, including cassowaries, echidnas and wallabies.

Our Top of the Hill site offers dry ground and best views the property offers. This site is suitable for long-term stayers (min 2 night stay) who have a tent or camper trailer (no bulky caravans or motor homes). It’s further away from the dumping point for their portapotty’s ‘produce’ , but it allows them to really take in the views at sunrise and sunset.

Located on 10 acres and surrounded by forest the property is just a 12 minute drive from beautiful Mission Beach, there is boat hire available at South Mission, so you can explore even further.

We are a 2 minute drive (or short walk) from the Djiru National Park, which has plenty of beautiful hiking and riding tracks for you to explore. We have bikes available for rent.

Hire a kayak and paddle to and from Dunk Island, go fishing off the jetty at Clump Point or simply relax at your campsite.

Campers will need to be self-contained with their own toilet/shower facilities and take all non-recyclable waste with them on departure. Your host will provide small buckets, where you can place food peelings that will be added to the compost. Card board and other bio-degradable material can also be handed over to your host.

All pets are welcome, provided they are cat friendly. The host can walk your pet in the morning for a small additional cost (see extras).
