A 58 acre rain forest property along the Endeavour River. The property has a 2 km riverfront and is completely surrounded by the Endeavour River National Park on all sides except for a 100m boundary at the front and the Endeavour River on one side.
Camping for up to 12 people, around communal Lodge. Lodge also has beds to accommodate 6 people.
There is a king sized bed and a queen bed with a single bunk above on a timber floor inside the lodge, plus 1 pull out bed - any more bedding required will need to be provided by the visitor ( tents, campers, swags etc). Basic cooking facilities and a composting toilet is available (no shower). B.Y.O drinking water. Those campers wishing to use the Lodges beds will need to bring Bedding. (Sheets/pillows will be provided on request( at no charge).)
There is no access for caravans or large motor homes but tents, camper trailers and boat trailers are great. A council boat ramp is situated nearby and boats can be accessed off the bank in a few spots along the property. There is good mobile telephone reception as it is only a 10 minute drive into town.
The forest is very unique with some rare plants including the livistonia Concinna which only grows on the property and can be seen along the driveway.  The national park is approximately 300 acres and is only accessible via the property. There are no neighbors and the lodge has complete privacy except for the very occasional tinny using the river, otherwise the visitor has sole use of the entire property. Great tracks ,flora, bird life/ wildlife on property.
The lodge is approximately 1 km from the road entry and has good vehicle access. 4X4 is not necessary in the dry season. The terrain is mostly flat and is dense rain forest with several tidal creeks crossing the property which have Mud crabs, Mangrove Jacks, Barramundi and Sleepy Cod. The whole property is under a shady forest canopy so you don't need hats or sunglasses which makes it quite cool on hot days, and as with all Cape York rivers there are crocodiles.
Campfires permitted. Pets welcome.

Classic nth qld bushie's shack, close to town but away from everyone. Used my generator in Lew's generator box for lights, byo own fan in warmer weather. Very shady area so nice and cool but not enough sun to run solar for a 12v fridge.
Kids and dogs had a blast.
Had everything we needed for a good weekend away. This place makes a great base camp to fish or explore the local area. Will be returning in the future.
It is very basic camp but
the lodge has what’s needed for shelter and cooking
You need to have your own fridge
The camp is about 15 minutes drive from cook town
The track in is about a Klm and the bush makes it very narrow so expect some scratches on the car
The mangroves prevent fishing from the camp site but there is a small area to fish from the bank about 300 metres from the lodge
Definitely take your own toilet and shower gear
Taking A generator is a good idea for lighting in the lodge which has some lights and power points set up
The endeavour river is great for a boat tho was very windy when we were there ( sept)
If you want to Moore a small boat at camp make sure it’s not under the canopy of the mangroves as the Tide might trap it under the mangrove roots
We didn’t catch much on lures or bait
Crabs were not about either
We had a great week staying at Lew’s place. Just what we needed. hooked into some nice fish and mud crabs 🦀 . Everything you need is there ,great to have a generator space where we could just plug into. Highly recommend this place if you want to semi rough it and get away from the crowds and also be close enough to town to pop in for a bun lunch if required.
Great private spot next to the endeavour river. My boys loved the spot and especially catching a few mud crabs for a delicious dinner. Lew the owner was very welcoming.
