Beautiful and quiet, such a tranquil camp spot. Our host went above and beyond to look after us, thank you!
Edelweiss was lovely and very accomodating. Guest amenities (kitchen and bathroom) were new, clean and provided privacy from the main dwelling as the property was relatively small compared to other hipcamps we have stayed at. Many cooking utensils, fridge, BBQ as well as washing machine/dryer were available for guest use.
Upon our arrival a juvenile male cassowary jumped out of the jungle!! He also came poking around the next morning looking for breakfast.
Edelweiss provided mosquito coils, however I would recommend bringing insect repellent.

Brilliant place and soon to be even better. The host was very accommodating and kind and the facilities were all available for use.
The place was nice and the owner very friendly, however, is not a powered campsite and the toilets need an improvement. Also, if rains you will struggle to leave the premises as the parking area gets really wet.
Just a great spot to camp! Amazing greenery surounding you and kids loved racing along the tracks. Had 1 cassowary visit in the morning. Access to a laundry and bbq/kitchen and shower/toilet. Loved it.
Edelweiss is a beautiful spacious lawned garden with perfectly level ground.
The possibility of cassowaries crossing the grounds adds to the exotic feel alone with the birdsong.
The location is perfect for exploring Mission Beach area and walks.
There is a resident man who lives near the entrance and made us welcome and added to the feeling of security. His dog Bosch, is formidable in size but friendly.
We were able to access power and water.
We were unable to plug in to our powered site as the powerpoint was a black melted mess and even the caretaker said not to use it. So we couldn't stay as needed 15amp power to our motorhome. I requested a refund but haven't heard back in that respect possibly because she believes that the power outlet is safe but why risk the electrical system in our $70k motorhome

The power point works and was checked by an electrician I have used it myself as well as other campers. The person you asked for advise was the mower man. It is unfortunate that you didn’t ask me before vacating. The power point cover has now been replaced so this confusion doesn’t happen again. I’m planning on having a manager stay on site while I’m away caring for my daughter who has breast cancer so as to avoid this confusion.
