Our Trip to Barron River Getaway was just what we needed, Our Hosts Judy and Don could not have been more helpful, really lovely People.
the Property is beautiful and extremely well kept. Visits from the Rescued Wallabies were great. We had a larger Van 27' and had no problems setting up at all, with Power and Water what more could you want. We will be going back.

We’ve just spent a relaxing 3 days at Barron River Getaway. From the moment we arrived the hosts, Judy and Don, were very welcoming to their property. We had beautiful views of the Barron River from Campsite 1.
Just what we needed to relax and unwind.
The property is well maintained and we would highly recommend it to anyone wanting a mini getaway, close to Cairns.

Absolutely loved our stay! Owners of the property are just lovely and so accommodating. My kids have agreed it is the best camping spot we have stayed! The location was simply beautiful and the swing tied to the tree was a hit with my 4 year old along with the friendly wallabies. Loved every second of it, will definitely be back.

The camping site was fantastic, swimming in the river was safe and really relaxing. We also pulled a few fish out for dinner! It was very nice of the hosts to offer use of their loo and the kayaks. We had a lovely time and had beautiful, peaceful sunrises right on the river. Thank you!

Our hosts welcomed us with open arms and smiles. The camp spot overlooked the Barron River with all of its glory. The moon shimmering on the river and sunrise was spectacular. We will return as we wanted peace and beauty. Kayaking was relaxing and loved every moment. Thank you Dan and Judy

This is a great camp-site on a beautiful property along the Barron River. The owners were lovely and very helpful. Unfortunately our trip was cut short by adverse weather; however we will definitely be back.

Barron River Retreat was beautiful, the grounds are very basic with fire pit, water and power to each site but IMMACULATELY presented and cared for. We were tent campers and it suited us and our little one perfectly. Prior to us getting washed out we spent a day on our own little river bed and two full on days visiting local waterfalls and hiking. Our hosts Don and Judy have lived amazing lives and are trail blazers in their community, we loved hearing their stories of extraordinary lived experiences from all over the world. The grounds are also a Wallaby Sanctuary so we got up close and personal with the Wallabies at 4p each day which we loved. You will need to bring your own toilets and showers, but other than that, we had a ball, five plus stars and will definitely come back
