Tent in The Forest caters for those looking to surround themselves in nature. There is no traffic, no one camping beside you, no other noise except the bird sweet sounds of the forest and all of nature that surrounds you.

When you book Tent in The Forest, you are booking the entire camp ground. It is yours to enjoy, explore, entertain, relax, unwind, or catch up on some rest.

Tent in The Forest is fully self contained campsite. All linen, bedding, gas top cooker, fridge, and kitchen utensils are here for you to use. There are hammocks, camp chairs, tables, and a dining suite all for you to enjoy. We provide organic toiletries including certified organic soap, hand sanitizer, and toilet paper.

Tent in The Forest is an eco friendly camp ground. We use solar power for our 12v systems, gravity fed water, and toilet waste is managed using a drop toilet which is then composted. If you are unfamiliar and want to know more about our off grid power, water, and waste systems please contact us.

Outside of Tent in The Forest the beautiful township of Kin Kin awaits you. At the Black Ant Cafe, you will find Jodie Williams and her team make mouth watering food and drinks throughout the day and on Friday nights. Enjoy breakfast daily, grab a bite for lunch, or zero in on there Friday night pizza night, popular with locals and visitors. The Black Ant Cafe also is your one stop shop for essential supplies such as milk, bread, coffee, etc.

Across the road from the Black Ant Cafe is the Country Life Hotel. A pub true in character, established in 1914. The Country Life Hotel is a classic Australian waterhole, weatherboard exterior, tongue and groove interior, large verandahs, double hung windows, huge hardwood timber top counters, great service, with plenty of room which attracts a myriad of people over the weekends, and settles into a slower more intimate pace weekdays and nights.

These two great places are only the beginning of a number of places to visit both locally, and a little further afar. The beaches of Noosa, including the national parks which surround them can be reached within the hour. Rainbow Beach, Lake Cootharabah, The Everglades, and lots more places to see and do are all within a short drive.

There are just too many great places to list here. We can guide you once you arrive.

Tent in The Forest is a great location to relax, unwind, and take in the serenity of living in the forest. It is also a perfect base for exploring the region.

A perfect getaway girls weekend! Ian and Ploen were amazing hosts and made us feel so welcome. Ploen’s cooking was one of the biggest highlights, the best Thai we have ever had. A really beautiful place with a great kitchen and bathroom (with forest views), comfy tent and amazing sunrise view from the deck. Loved that we arrived with everything already there and set up for us! We have already rebooked and can’t wait to come back.

What a wonderful little gem of an oasis in the the forest! Picture perfect with wonderfully rustic facilities - lots of well thought out little touches. Great to relax and appreciate the sound of nature and loved the view of green canopy plus the full moon rising was very special. Friendly and helpful host and the home cooked Thai food delicious too!
True, real and unpretentious glamping. 5 stars from me!

This place is an absolutely perfect spot to spend a few days away. It was so relaxing just to sit and hear the birds sing among all the lush greenery, and if you're feeling adventurous there are a number of national parks nearby to explore. The hosts Ian and Ploen are so warm and welcoming, and spared no effort to make sure that we had everything we needed. I would highly recommend this spot.

Wonderful escape to the country. The scenery was fantastic, the setting being amongst lush green mountains; very private. Couldn’t have asked for a better set up with the tent, deck, fireplace, kitchen and bathroom. Could see the spectacular sunrise while lying down in the tent. Ian and his wife were wonderful and very accommodating hosts; they even went out of their way organising a little gift to celebrate our first wedding anniversary - very special indeed. They also organised & cooked a Thai dinner for one night at our request...a very delicious meal.

Kin Kin is a very sweet, picturesque tiny little town.
A little gem we found totally unexpectedly was the Black Ant Gourmet Cafe just 5 minutes drive down the road from our camp site. We had most our meals there when we weren’t our day tripping to Noosa, only 40 minutes away. Make sure to book ahead though - they were very popular!

My husband and I both had a wonderful time here and would recommend to any one who loves camping and the outdoors.

Our 2 nights at Ian’s campsite were very relaxing. We really didn’t have to do anything except light the fire, and sit back on the outside deck with a drink until our pre-ordered Thai meals to be delivered (the meals are a MUST-DO if you stay; Ploen’s cooking is better than most Thai restaurants I’ve ever been to). The undercover cooking/eating area is very well done (I could live like this) and gives enough protection from the elements while still being part of nature. We loved the bath with instant hot water (and the plush bath towels). The composting drop toilet worked really well - no smell whatsoever. Plenty of solar lighting and eco-friendly products. Ian went out of his way to meet us and see us off, and made us feel welcome, yet importantly he gave us our privacy otherwise.

The most relaxing weekend we have had in a very long time. Such a beautiful spot with great hosts. To just sit back and listen to all the birds of the forest and watch the rain fall was unreal. A big plus was Ploen’s Thai food which was better than anything we’ve had in a restaurant! Be sure to try it. Ian & Ploen are very welcoming and lovely.
The site is so well setup that you don’t need anything else. Just turn up and tune out.
Telstra phone service only so if you are with Optus you will enjoy an even more relaxing time being out of reach from all distractions.
The tent is cosy and held up to some pretty heavy rain without any issues. If you are staying during the warmer months, you may want to bring a battery powered fan as it gets pretty toasty in there when the sun is out. You spend the whole time down in the kitchen area anyway where it is nice and breezy so it would only be to make the night’s sleep a little more pleasant.
We will definitely be back! Thank you Ian & Ploen for a wonderful weekend!
